Receptionist was very pleasant and helpful, Breakfast was wonderful and staff very helpful and cheerful. Hotel was very well appointed and decorated.
An evening meal would have been a nice option.

We stayed in one of the lodges, it was clean and in very good condition with everything you need.
The only thing I would say to prospective customers is that there is a fire exit sign in the lodge (which there should be) that of course has a green light, if you are sensitive to light when you are sleeping or trying to sheep you may want to consider bringing an eye mask.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was great. We were staying with our small dog and were in Lodge 1 which was perfect for us. We had breadfast in the bar so the dog could be with us. The breakfast was huge and the bacon was fabulous.
There was nothing we didn't like.

Beautiful surroundings very clean warm and cozy room friendly chef can't comment on breakfast as we skipped breakfast. Had a wonderful sleep. After a 8 hour drive up from England.
Not very welcoming at reception lack of info in room so glad we had a bath as the shower all though new looking was extremely noisy

Cute hotel, food i cannot review as there doesn't really seem to be much offering regarding an evening meal but the breakfast is fab
No real evening meal service offered and the shower wasn't really up to much

Staff rumbled up a nice snack for our dinner and we enjoyed a superb breakfast following by an interesting chat with the chef.
Our room at the back of the hotel was spacious and gave great access to the carpark. Perfect for our canine travelling companion.
It was delightful to enjoy such a splendid hotel and location. Would definately visit again, when visiting the area again.

A really exceptional country house renovated to a high standard and in keeping with original fittings and fixtures. The wife was overawed with the room, lounge, and dining room. Breakfast was fine.
Nothing to complain about. Only thing that struck me was should it get busy parking could be limited.

Good location for exploring Hawick. Bedroom and shower good although tap water not drinkable and mirror over toilet and not over sink not ideal. (Room 7). Given two bottles of water clearly not enough!! Breakfast okay and good quality products but potato scone overcooked and greasy
Receptionist/manager very unwelcoming. Registration form plonked on desk and told fill that in. No hello or welcome. Presume have to pay more a smile. WiFi also very weak.

It’s lovely staying in a grand country house.
It was nicely decorated and warm. Good shower, comfy bed & pillows. Good bar area. There’s a big enclosed dog walking field (with a bin!). It really was a treat. Lovely cooked breakfast & the hotel manager was really friendly and accommodating. We wished we’d eaten here in the evening. They were very accommodating with our two little dogs & allowed them to be with us at breakfast in a lovely room overlooking the garden.
Our room wasn’t en suite which wasn’t a problem, however the sink was just a little hand wash sink & not a bathroom sink which made it too small for washing.
There was no wardrobe, just an open rail- but no hangers. I mentioned it to the manager who said the designer had designed the sink that way & we should have asked for hangers. It wasn’t a deal breaker and we will stay here again— best hotel in Hawick.

We had a pleasant one night stay here travelling back from the Highlands to England. The room was large and comfortable, the building was attractive surrounded by beautiful gardens and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were helpful and friendly and the service was very good. We would stay again if we were in the area. It is a good location as there are plenty of choices for restaurants/pubs in the town for the evening including a Wetherspoons.
The only downside was that you could not drink the tap water. A couple of small mineral water bottles were provided in the room but we bought a large bottle to ensure we had enough for the next day. Providing 2 of these small bottles per person might be an idea if there is no drinking water available,

Very clean, perfect room. We were just there for a sleep and left before breakfast but all was lovely.
Sat nav takes you up the incorrect street. Advised gentleman at reception

Location good. Walkable to Hawick and close to main roads to explore. Breakfast was amazing & good quality. Chef Bob was amazing & recommended local place for evening meal. Has private parking & feels like in country estate. We stayed in a lodge and very good size. Amazingly clean. Staff were friendly..
Small niggles but could do with a blind on the bathroom window in lodge. It looks out to back car park, but if light is on, can see through frosted glass (& cat patk used at night). Also, the toilet seat was a little wobbly (new but didn't seem to fit or was not fitted correctly). Lastly, if an event is on during the day / early evening, parking can be a little tight. Locally, in Hawick and the Borders, the shops close from 1 pm on Saturday, but loads of places to walk & explore

A very old fashioned house. Charming and beautiful with it. Lovely grounds though we didn’t get to explore them much as we were only staying one night and it rained. Breakfast was very tasty and staff were helpful. Dedicated bike storage shed was welcome.
I felt our room needed modernising, esp more and better placed power sockets to charge our devices and eBike batteries
The bathroom whilst spacious had a very small sink and nowhere to hang your towel whilst in the shower.

Since our check-in time that day was super late, the hotel also arranged for someone to do a late check-in with us. I felt very warm and nice, and they were very enthusiastic in explaining everything to us.
Nothing to challenge

Good location, lady on reception was very helpful on arrival, good-sized room.
Man on reception was downright unfriendly and unwelcoming - if I hadn't paid in advance we might've turned around and left! Our TV kept asking for a PIN so my husband went down again to ask - a dog ran out of the private area, barked then nipped his calf just as someone came and got the animal. The advice offered was to switch it off and on (known jokingly by my IT team as "technical reset") that didn't work so we didn't watch TV as he wasn't going back to meet the dog again. Went to bed early but for a couple of hours we could hear perfectly a conversation (not sure from where, as the walls seemed solid). Room had a nice view over the garden. This place has nice bathrooms but the tiniest bath towels ever and also expect you to share a single hand-towel which in our view is unsanitary. Breakfast was also poor as the scrambled eggs appeared to have had milk added which anyone knows is a sure way to make them rubbery.

The room (Lodge) was clean, apart from blood on the duvet cover (not ours btw). It was a good size though.
The shower was scalding. There was intermittent cold water in the hand basin hence the shower issue. Very dangerous for a youngster!!!
The 'Lodge' was in a backyard parking area, not very appealing!. Also, there was no shampoo / conditioner nor a mirror in the main area (for drying hair)
For £180 per night I'd expect a fridge as a minimum.

Beautiful Country House Hotel set in its own tranquil grounds. Maintained to a high standard throughout with lots of period features. Our room was beautifully decorated with lovely furniture and a large comfy bed.
If you intend to stay out late" make sure you have a keyfob for the front door to get back into the hotel. An onsuite bathroom would have been a bonus however it was the last room available when we booked .
