Lovely stay Shame about the noise through the night .

Staff were very nice and the food was lovely. Would be happy to stay again as long I v c old choose my room.

Room 4 had a banging noise in the ceiling (possibly plumbing) through the night . The other couple that stayed in room 8 did not notice any unusual noises.

One night at a gloriously impressive mansion.

A lovely, lovely old house. Plenty of space, hot water, bath, glorious breakfast. Great bed, good central heating.

Perhaps for some a bit of a walk into the town, 15 mins? The winding entrance road was also the pedestrian path(I think) so be aware of cars. Uphill on your return, not too well lit. Bar prices!!!

Excellent example of Scottish Hospitality in a traditional country house hotel.

The food in Mansfield Park was extremely good. We had breakfast and dinner. Excellent friendly staff who would go out of their way to accomodate your needs. Although we stayed in November, we could still apreciate the hotel gardens that must be stunning from spring through to autumn.

Being an old traditional house, this hotel does not have an elevator. The staff will help you with luggage.

I’ve stayed at The Mansfield a good few times. Outstanding. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when I’m visiting the area. Superb rooms, outstanding breakfast, and the staff always go above and beyond. Fabulous hotel!

Breakfast was excellent. The decoration of the hotel is fabulous, it's a truly lovely place. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and very professional.

Breakfast was until 9.00am and we would have preferred until 10.00am but this was a minor issue made up for by the excellent food and service.

A pleasant, relaxing and comfortable stay in an historic hotel in attractive grounds.

The staff were pleasant and friendly but not intrusive. My doggy was made very welcome around the hotel at all times. It was lovely that she was able to join us for breakfast and dinner (in the bar area). There has been a lot of thought put into the furnishings in the hotel and there were multiple comfortable seating areas to simply relax and enjoy the ambience. Bedrooms were spotlessly clean and beds were comfy. The pod coffee machine in the bedroom was a real bonus and plenty of pods were provided, along with the usual other sundries (tea bags, biscuits, hot chocolate). Excellent breakfast options, with generous portion sizes. I would recommend having breakfast and dinner in the hotel. The food was delicious. Parking spaces are plentiful and the grounds are generous, with lovely views across the valley towards the town and beyond. There was very little to fault this hotel and we would not hesitate to return. Thanks to all staff for making our stay a comfortable and enjoyable one.

A very relaxing place to stay and a great location for exploring other Borders Towns.

The room was very comfortable and spotless clean. The decor in the hotel is tastefully done with character. Meals were excellent and the bar was well stocked with a very good selection of beers. The staff were terrific and always on hand with prompt service. Overall, a very pleasant stay at Mansefield House.

Very disappointed that restaurant and bar were closed on a Sunday but open at all other times. I would have thought Sunday was an ideal day to cater for residents.

My room was under the reception area. The room would be vastly improved by installing blackout curtains as the lights illuminating the front of the hotel are bright and on all night.

A very special hotel.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It is some time since we enjoyed ourselves so much and this was in a great part due to the elegant surroundings, exceptionally good food, and cleanliness of all areas. The welcome and friendliness of all staff topped a very special stay. Thank you to all and we hope to spend a couple more nights with you later this year.
