It was ok for a short stay but far from ideal

Location, cleanliness, washing machine

Cramped spaces, unable to bring suitcases up ladder like staircase, very limited airflow and hot, appeared to have two air conditioners but when we queried the owner, she advised they were heaters only - despite other heaters being in the property and the air con controllers clearly indicating reverse cycle function (ie cooling and heating functions). We were supplied a loud fan which allowed for poor sleep in the hot bedroom.

Good value in quiet Amboise neighborhood with friendly hosts.

Hosts speak good English - much better than our poor French. Hosts helpfully explained how to use the washer and drying rack. Washer was very clean. Small but well-equipped kitchen. Bathroom and shower were nice. Quiet and safe neighborhood, yet not too hard for us to find.

Host was 20 minutes late in meeting us when we arrived. We were concerned, but the neighbors tried to help. He sincerely apologized and gifted us a bottle of wine the next day which we appreciated. The stairs to the upper level - bed and bathroom - or narrow so be sure to grab tightly on to that handrail. They advise not taking your heavy luggage up to the upper level which is good advice.

We loved everything about this property… from the warm greetings when we arrived, to the tour and explanation, the welcome gift, the comfy bed, hot shower and big towels…the quiet- just everything!

Florence was a great hostess and ensured we had everything we needed, even having her son translate for us which was great. Great little apartment to relax after lot of travelling. Had all we needed.
