Absolutely perfect and didn’t want to leave

Ancrum House was absolutely amazing! The house was absolutely spotless and Tracey was excellent and explained how everything worked! The kids had their own space to play which meant us adults could get some time together as well! It is the most beautiful house we have ever stayed at and can’t recommend highly enough to anyone looking for a fantastic holiday experience. The property isn’t far from the train station and only 14 mins to Carlisle which meant we didn’t need to drive!

Amazing stay

We liked absolutely everything. The house is beautiful and you can find everything you need . Great location, wonderful garden, and especially the hot tub! The host, Tracey, was kind enough to let us check in early, and during the whole stay, she was sooo helpful. I would recommend to anyone to stay in this amazing house and we would love to come back again!

Lovely house in good location

The house was absolutely spotless, with great facilities. Well kitted-out kitchen and comfortable beds. The bathrooms have clearly been redone recently, so everything felt very fresh. The garden is a lovely suntrap, with the hot-tub and trampoline being particular highlights. Tracey was very welcoming and provided a bottle of pink prosecco for our arrival. Great location to explore the local area, or slightly further afield - the Lake District is within easy reach for a nice day trip.

No negatives, apart from the fact that the bbq needs replaced. Having said that, there was a family-sized disposable bbq available for us to use, so it didn't detract from our stay in any way.

We all enjoyed Ancrum house, hot tub was fab and trampoline was loved by our 3 year old granddaughter, lovely big garden for her to run around in, house was spacious, 7 of us, but we didn't feel we were falling over each other, we really enjoyed our stay there

Beautiful house with everything you needed. House was warm and homely and spotlessly clean. Tracey was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful.Location was ideal for our needs, handy for buses and trains.

Beautiful house!

Absolutely everything! The property is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and child friendly. It was perfect for our family of 7 (2 adults and an 8, 7, 6, 4 and 1 year old) and plenty of room in the garden for the boys to run around. Tracey should be very proud of her accommodation and you can tell alot of hard work goes into keeping it the way it is. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was the only house suitable in Gretna Green where our large family could stay all together. It is just around the corner from the Blacksmith's Shop where we got married during our stay and it was topped off by gorgeous weather too! A very spacious house where attention to detail is clearly at the forefront of the owner. Lovely little touches like a complimentary bottle of Prosecco, milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, sugar and some biscuits aswell! Plenty of towels, tea towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, handwashes, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Well equipped kitchen, gorgeous bathrooms, bedrooms and living room, hot tub and rattan furniture outside. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed in. Highly recommended. Thank you so much!!

Downstairs bedroom was quite chilly even with the radiator turned right up.

The full house from top to bottom was in immaculate condition. Modern and fresh decor, spotlessly clean and beautiful facilities. Very spacious, and the open plan kitchen area was where we mostly spent our time socialising. Tracey was extremely helpful with questions and queries prior and during our stay, we will definitely be back to ancrum house.
