Lovely place, not close to many shops/restaurants & pretty bad noise level so won’t be returning.

It’s was large, roomy & have a log burner.

The noise! I read the reviews before booking and thought it can’t be that bad but unfortunately I have to say it is very noticeable and does wake you up. I live next to train tracks so usually don’t notice outside noises as much but this was very loud. Another small thing that I noticed was cobwebs, a quick dusting on the high ceilings would be good.

Brilliant lodge in a good location. The pictures are accurate and the lodge is actually a lot bigger than what we expected. Would definitely recommend staying at this lodge.

Beautiful out he way retreat!

Beautiful "proper" log cabin, not the usual wooden structure! Well equipped for self catering if that's what guests are intending to do but the café offers an excellent selection for those who can't be bothered ( It is dog friendly however you do need to sit outside) . We only stopped one night because it was just a break from home with a friend. Within walking distance into town for pubs and shops but plenty of parking if you want to go by car. Grass area at the rear of the property, although not entirely enclosed, allowed our dog to come and go from inside to outside freely and she tended to lay on the paving slabs just outside the doors! lol The outside area also has a small BBQ and is lighten for twilight dinning and drinks.

We loved everything.......however the only downside was the wood flooring throughout which our large Labrador definitely had a problem with. On entry she took a "Bambi on ice" fall and was very wary from then on in. This resulted in us having to leap frog rug from area to area allowing her to join us. Perhaps an anti slip coating on the floors (which other places we have stayed at do have and it does make a difference) would help.

Excellent stay in a log cabin.

Excellent place to stay. Spacious, comfortable with everything you need. Only 10 minutes walk to the town where there is a nice area by the river and walks across the other side for our dog. We ate at the Whitshiel Cafe nearby, and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. We'll hopefully stay again.

It is by the road, so it can be noisy. Wouldn't stop us from staying again.

Beautiful cabin, total.relaxation. Excellent host.

The lodge was amazing. We loved everything about it. Danielle was a great host and nothing was too much trouble for her. The bed was super comfortable making it hard to get up every morning! The surrounding area was beautiful with some lovely places to walk. We also travelled a bit further out to the coast and to climb the grey Mare’s Tail which was amazing. The lodge we had (larch) was great if you have a dog as there is a lovely grassy area to the front of the lodge. Although it isn’t enclosed we were able to keep our dog on a long lead so that he could explore. He loved it!

Would have loved a secure garden area for dogs , as I have a naughty dog who likes to escape. But it was not a big issue & would not put us off coming back as such a lovely cabin & location.

Stunning and peaceful

The cabin was exceptionally clean and tidy on arrival, easy access and beautiful inside. The pictures do not do this justice! It is so big plenty of room, log fire with free kindling -easy to use. Beautiful bathroom it was just stunning. Washing machine in the kitchen, had everything you needed. Small BBQ outside with table and chairs . I will definitely be going back this year. Hosts were friendly and helpful

Stunning log cabin, everything you need, beautiful setting - we even was very lucky and had sunshine too. Easy to find. 10 mins walk into town for any supplies etc. Fantastic walking area. Pet friendly. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Luxury log cabin

Beautiful well decorated log cabin with all amenities and comfortable beds. Next door to cafe and walking distance to town of Langolm

Fantastic wee place highly recommend and wee will definitely be back.

This weekend break was a surprise from my wife and I was totally blown away with the lodge. Spotlessly clean,well equipped very spacious and a short walk into the town. Ideal place to recharge your batteries. The cafe on site had a good selection on the menu, food was fantastic fresh hot and homemade. Staff was very friendly and nothing was a problem. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Charming Cabin

The Cabin was Charming,, cosy, and comfortable.🥰 They were thinking of everything you would need during your stay at the cabin👍. Nice Cafe is just next door if you need it. I used the high ceiling as a screen for the projector to make a home cinema for my son too.🤩📽 I would definitely go back there again.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💫

The mattresses could be better if I were honest. The Cabin is literally next to the A7 main road.

Wonderful lodge in fantastic surroundings

We stayed in the Willow lodge, which has its own gated private area with a gate for further security. The lodges are in a remote area on the main road, and although it wasn't busy it was nice to know the car was locked in. The lodge was really well presented and included everything you could wish for. All of a good standard too. The on-site cafe is a must. The food was plentiful, hot and real value for money. The lodge itself is really homely and a wonderful place to relax and explore from.

The bed settee isn't comfortable at all. My wife has been ill so I needed to use the bed settee. It was uncomfortable and the mattress was extremely thin. I will be honest I don't like the fact that £200 is taken from your account rather than bank details held in case. It may not physically come out of the account, but it does show on your account as debited. I understand there is a need for a deposit or holding fee so the owners can protect themselves, but for me there must be another way as it could put people overdrawn if they don't realise it's happening. This way of doing it would probably put me off booking here again. Which is really sad as we absolutely loved the lodge and location!

We had the best time on a relaxing holiday and we would definitely stay again.

The cabin could not have fitted our holiday more, all we wanted was a place to relax for a few nights with the dog that was near lovely places for dog walks. The cabin was spacious, well decorated, had everything we needed and exceptionally clean and modern. There was a lovely little hamper full of tea making things and the cabin was warm for when we arrived (it was snowy when we came and that definitely added to its charm).

The cabins are very close to a road and the windows do not block out any outside noise so you could hear the numerous lorries and trucks going past however we spent most of our days outside and the traffic is minimal during the night give or take a couple of trucks.
