The property was large and had all the amenities necessary. It cost much less than other properties

The property was large and well equipped. All basics were provided. We were unable to control the heating ourselves. We requested that the heating be turned higher and it was, but again, we were unable to control this. The property is well located and easy to get to. The price of the property was attractive in comparison to others in the area.

There were steps down to the part of the chalet that was ours. It was not a private building although from pictures one would assume it is. It seems that a fuse went and we had no light in hall or bathroom. This we noticed at 1 AM. We informed the host by whatsapp but were unable to speak to him directly although we tried to in the morning. We had no idea whether he received the message and was dealing with the problem. The problem was solved and we then had light. The kettle was not clean at all - luckily we had our own electric kettle with us and used it instead. The shower had no water pressure. All the mattresses need replacing. We had a choice of three bedrooms, and took the one that was the "best" - definitely not swiss hotel standard. The chalet was roomy, in an excellent location for the winter when you keep the windows closed. There is a strong flowing brook directly behind the property which is very noisy. It is beautiful and the view is magnificent - but the brook is loud. We basically ate and slept in the property and for that it was more than sufficient - the fuse problem could happen to anyone - the lack of response from the property manager we found disturbing.

A magical chalet beside the river!

The location is great, exactly beside the road next to a train station - however, there is ample parking space nearby (20-40 metres away). I had read other reviews of the loud river sound (river flowing over rocks, hitting rocks) and the occasional train sounds - so I was already expecting them. It was not too bad, and if I may say so, kind of therapeutic white noise. It was already cold as it was end-October, so windows were tightly shut. In summer, the sound may be louder, so please take your decision accordingly. The wooden interiors are great, the skylights and their thoughtful positioning really gave a very cosy feel. Everyone in our group liked it. The kitchen was great (we cooked sphagetti, chicken, etc.) and ample utensils were provided. There was a nice patio, with BBQ arrangements. Quite spacious living room, and multiple bedrooms - all in all, a dream house! Tip for other travellers: There were lots of extra blankets under the wardrobe in of the rooms, but we discovered it during checking out. I also reached late, around 11 pm in the night - and it was a very cold night. I was unable (due to mental exhaustion) to find the right house number (house number 14 instead of 16), but the host was very friendly and helped me find the right house on the phone.

All in all, it was a great location. However, people travelling with kids might want to be careful of them not stepping onto the road - as the road is literally on the side, and situated on a bend, so vehicles might not stop till its too late. However, this is only a minor concern, as most drivers were quite accommodating (and appeared cautious) when we were taking out our car.

Excellent location, spacious flat.

This flat is in a great location, very close to Grindelwald and next to the train station. So it was very easy to travel from here, both by train and by car to other places in the area. The flat is very spacious, 3 bedrooms were great for our family of 5.

Just a small thing, the river behind the house was quite noisy. So we were not able to keep windows open during the night.

Not much other than location

Overall accomodation. Beds were very uncomfortable and bathroom was very smelly with clogging drain. We didn't even feel to take a shower. Very dated accommodation could do with total update to bring comfort to guests often tired after a full day of sight seen. Gesture of lovely biscuits was appreciated Thank you

Basement inside a shared house

The situation is great in front of the train station and with great views of the mountains.

The cleanliness of the accommodation was insufficient. For example, the oven trays were very dirty, the children's trampoline and swings were impractical. Due to a problem with one of the bathrooms, we only had one bathroom instead of two, which was a drawback for a family of seven. The house has poor lighting and needs some renovations. The house is a basement inside a house.

We liked that it was easy to find and accomadated our group of 7. It was very clean. The hosts were prompt when responding and very nice.

We didn't realize that wasn't any airconditioning and only 1 fan in the living room, which we couldn't locate the remote for. The screens were mostly torn so we couldn't open the windows due to the large amount of flies. When we arrived, there were so many flies already in the house.

good place in between the nature with a nice host.

place is in a very nice location with a view of mountains and sound of nature, place is very nice and cozy. all the needed appliances are in place. location is at the center of Grindelwald (7 mins drive) and Lauterbrunnen (12 mins drive).

bed linen , I think it can be better, else it was a wonderful and nice stay. I will definitely want to stay there again.

very convenient location, the windows are sound proof, the owner is very friendly and contactable

the place is definitely lack of maintenance, lots of stuff in bad condition- floor, fridge (freezer part not functional and the chiller is not cold enough to keep food), furnitures. The hygiene level is not good also, a lot of hairs on the floor means the floor not vacuumed before we came. The laundry room is the dirtiest you can find in the world

The location is great! Its quite far from Grindelwald (train just every 30min), but its in a valley direct to the mountain.

It wasnt really clean - we were in a group of 6 people and 4 had some allergies due dusty. When showering, the water flows to the bathroom and everything gets wet.
