We really liked the retro nature of the place, and it was easy to access and park. The view was gorgeous and the house had everything we needed. The house was very creeky but we didn't mind that - part of the ambience. Loved the selection of books and CDs.
The house was very cold and took time to warm up, though we didn't use the fire, just the air conditioning. The shower was not very strong, and the bath was old. The house, in general, is a little tired, and we couldn't find a key for the garage.

Location, close to amenities. Quiet neighborhood.
If you are a heavy sleeper you will be okay, however please be aware that because the house is of timber construction it does creak when the temperature outside changes overnight and in the morning, to the point where it will wake you up in the middle of the night thinking that somebody is breaking in.

Only one bathroom. The faucet in bathroom is too old. Cold and hot water are separated. It is impossible to wash your hands or face. The property staff is mean

Very specious and clean. Had everything we needed for our two day stay and we especially enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen and balcony. Very handy 10 minute walk into town. Didn’t expect the FABULOUS view of the mountains and lake from the balcony. The house creeks but this adds to the experience. Staff in the Discover Tekapo office were exceptionally friendly. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
