Retro Inn 1 - Lake Tekapo

Such a cosy, light space with a beautiful view over the rooftops out to Lake Tekapo and the mountains. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay and only a short walk into town to cafes, restaurants shops and a supermarket. Also, a short walk to the much photographed Lutheran church on the lake and up to a stunning vista from Cowan's Hill. I absolutely loved the open fire place as it brought back so many child memories of our fire at home and my dad teaching me how to start a fire and keep it roaring along. Loved the way the place has been decorated in a tasteful retro style.

The open fire is a bonus and made our stay very cosy. The kitchen was well equipped.

The timber structure of this property is quite noisy as it expands and contracts.

Gemütliches Haus mit fantastischer Aussicht das seinem Namen alle Ehre macht. Skihütten-Feeling. Alles da, was man braucht. Mit dem Holzofen wird es kuschelig warm.

Die Miniatur-Wasserhähne am Bad-Waschbecken sind nicht zu gebrauchen, wir sind in die Küche ausgewichen. Das Haus knarzt bei jedem Schritt und auch in der Nacht 24/7. Ich bin immer wieder aus dem Schlaf hochgeschreckt.
