Generally would recommend

The bed was roomy for a twin and the curtain to pull around it was appreciated, everything was extremely clean, the location was convenient, it felt safe.

It was a little inconvenient if you, like me, were jet lagged and on the wrong schedule. No 24hr spaces, nowhere to store food.

everything was so clean and confortable, I was there just for one night and it was so satisfying. I would recommend the place and I will stay again there if I need to stay in Lyon. It was so close from the station, easy to locate, the bar was so cozy and the staff very kind.

Overall, an okay and cheap stay for two nights

We slept in a dorm, the beds had curtains for privacy. We could use the microwave and it was possible to bring our own Food to the cafe on the ground floor. Cute cafe and bar. Great location to visit lyon, we felt safe at night.

The showers could have been cleaned more often and the room smelled a bit. The toilets were outside of the dorm and you need the keycard to reenter. At night, the street was noisy

hygiene issue

We stayed at this hostel recently. The location was good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively impacted by a serious hygiene issue.

While traveling to the airport, we started experiencing itching and signs of an allergic reaction, which got worse after we arrived home. A doctor confirmed it was caused by bedbug bites. We hadn’t realized the cause earlier, but it became clear the bites happened during our stay. This situation caused a lot of discomfort, stress, and required medical treatment. Although we didn’t notice the problem in the room at the time, we now feel it’s important to warn future guests and management. We hope the hostel investigates this issue seriously and takes immediate pest control measures. While the location and staff were great, cleanliness and guest health must be prioritized.

Better than expected

The staff were friendly on arrival. If you needed anything, they were more than willing to help. The bar / cafe was a nice spot to have a beer and watch the world go by. The room was exactly as shown in the pictures with nice little French windows overlooking the street. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were excellent. I personally had no problem with the wifi, but I was on the first floor. The location was close to both the metro and tram. It seemed sketchy at times with dodgy things happening, but always felt safe enough. There are also a couple of nice cafes within walking distance.

Amazing stay, lovely people, would definitely recommend

Really good location. Hostel was warm and friendly and people working there were always happy to help with anything. Lots of different languages spoken and easy, chilled environment.

There was no kitchen so couldn't make food so the trip was more expensive as had to eat out a lot. The bar was pretty expensive and happy hour could have had more drinks for cheaper not just beer, to bring people staying in the hostel together a bit more...like teas and coffee, they had good teas, and cocktails and soft drinks...

Bed is quite nice, with curtain, separated bathroom and toilet, cafe downstair also quite chill, love the vibe, brekky is simple and good value

No elevator, dodgy neighbourhood, people went festive outside at midnight over the weekend, being very loud, a bit walking distance from the city centre but tram is in walking distance. Limited pantry, fridge only accessible by staff.

Good staying in Lyon

The localization was good. You could reach the old town by walking and walking along the riverbank. The staff was very friendly and bar was relaxing.

The beds were not comfortable. There were no tables or desks in the bedroom in case you want to use a computer in the bedroom other than in bed. The lavatory for had no sink to wash the hands. I slept in an upper bed and the courtain to protect from the light room was not enough.

Cosy atmosphere in Lyon

The atmosphere in the pub part was very cosy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room on the ground floor was very clean and the bedding very comfortable. The area is not great but it is located sort of half way between the 2 stations so it suited our needs. The mini breakfast was good value.

An overall good hostel stay

The location of the hostel and the friendliness of the staff are the highlights for me on this stay.

The facility itself is old, the restaurant isn't running anymore as the chef has sadly fallen ill. The walls are also pretty thin, and the doors are pretty loud when shut.

I wish they could have been kind and to let me check in even a little bit earlier. I arrived to Lyon after a long flight and had been awake for 37 hours. No elevator in the building. So if you have a heavy suitcase like I had, you'll have an opportunity to practise your zen mode

Disrespect to the guest

The common area is a well-decorated public bar.

The reception of the hostel is the bar counter. Since it is a public bar, which is also a common area of the hostel, homeless people can access the premises and sleep on the couches. The inside of the hostel is very dirty and poorly maintained. In my room, one of the guests brought a person from outside (not a guest) to have sex. The hostel staff did not serve me well, showed indifference and treated me with disrespect, confusing the language barrier with stupidity, not realizing that good communication goes far beyond spoken language. I ended up choosing to end my stay in the city at another establishment.
