The Hotel is fine. The staff awesome and the location perfect.
It is located close to the center. Actually the whole city looks like a huge center and Lyon is just beautiful.
I have read a lot of comments about the neighborhood not being safe or something, but all due respect to the other guests ...not even close. It is just a multicultural area but in a good way, the whole area is beautiful and the streets are clean.
It takes some time for a stranger to get used to the way you need to use the public transportation, but when you do so, then you find out it is not that complicated and you can move easily from point to point. The only problem with the city, if you're a Mediterranean (...or a Latino) trust me, is the food. The people here eat really early! They live in a different way, but of course we have to adapt to their lifestyle, we are the visitors. But that has nothing to do with the Hotel.
Also, the Hotel must have been a classy one, like 30 years ago, but still looks nice. The room was clean and really warm. The bathroom was renovated and comfortable. The breakfast could be a 5 star hotel breakfast, also very good. I am a receptionist myself and I can tell it's worth it. It's a descent place to stay and the price is fair.
Thank you!

Nothing
Rooms are old and dirty. The tv is very old and works only sometimes. The room is cold and it wasn’t even winter. The water was cold and only on the second day it was warmer, but then you need to wait around ten-twenty minutes for the water to heat. And this, I had to figure out on my own since the employees, specially the girl in the morning with the dark hair, are very unprepared and a bit rude.

Reception and helpful staff
forced late check out fee, we only came to the hotel to sleep - we arrived at 2am at night, so we wanted to get at least a few hours of sleep, they let us out at 11.45

The place is good for the price,
Pros: Staff is very attentive, room was clean and organized, and a very close walking distance to great places and old town we didn't have to take the bus or anything to discover that part.
If you have a late departure by your train or airplane after your check-out, they have a baggage room so you can go amd enjoy a bit more before departing (there's no lock or special rack to secure the bags, everyone put them all together in the same place and you just open the door when you're going to pick them up)
Tip: they offer a $10 breakfast, it's good, but there's also a nice cafeteria 2 blocks away which offers also good food.
Cons:
If you arrive too late, the hotel is located 2 blocks away from a very not looking area and reported pick pockets we never went to that side (not related to the hotel but something to consider)
The air-conditioning in our room didn't work, on previous comments they said they're doing some renovations, that's all good, but the amenities should be updated when they are ready to be used. In conclusion the place has AC but doesn't work.
It's a bit noisy when people arrives late, you can hear the elevator, people opening doors and entering rooms.

The location is great, the reception staff was smiling and friendly
I didn't believe it was possible in the 21st century to book a room without air conditioning. The tiny room wasn't cleaned properly. There were small pieces of broken glass on the dusty carpet right in front of the window. I doubt the room had been vacuumed recently. And the view out the window was of construction scaffolding. The only means of cooling was a fan, which didn't help when the temperature reached 38 degrees. Lyon is in the south of France after all, and the temperatures in the summer are unbearable. In addition to the fact that the small room had a bed without night stands, we only had one socket, which didn't work well. The second socket was in the bathroom. The bathroom itself was OK, but needs ventilation. I will definitely look for another accommodation when I return to Lyon.

Clean quiet rooms, window facing internal houses of other people who were all very quiet. Safe neighbourhood although it is a university area.
Neighbouring rooms rowdy at night but that is no fault of the hotel management. There were only 5 coat hangars.

Clean toilet and sheets
Hot water non.existent, lukewarm at best if u turn on the tap for long. Floor was not even, there was a hole, covered by carpet. Carpet not clean, and I can feel something biting my legs. Almost no amenities, there is a tiny soap only. We were on first floor, quite noisy. if windows are close it would be too hot. No drinking water, which I don't expect the room to provide, but there was no cup / glass either, which is inconvenent.

The hotel itself has its character, we asked for a specific room, and we got one, the view from balcony was amazing, not far from main attractions, definitely worth the money
the hotel is situated in district with lots of strange people

Everything except the hot water wasn’t that hot! Would be nicer to have small kettle in the room.
No kettle in the room.

the bed was nice, the location was very central and therefor public transport was easy to reach
the shower / bathtub head was barely spending water in our room. we felt unsave because the walls were very thin so every footstep sounds like some killer is after you in the night.

The bed was comfortable
The bathtub was clogged, there was no decent chair in the room !! How is it possible to pay 100€+ per night and have no chair to sit on to work on the desk ?
The Wifi was very slow, and the breakfast very poor although it cost 10€

Room was clean
Unfortunately this hotel is located in a very dangerous place. Considering that security isn’t being taken care at all. When I checked in not my passport number nor my husband were asked. I felt like whoever could come and ask for an extra key to my room and rob me in any time. I left immediately after giving an opportunity to see around the building but everything felt super sketchy. I am sorry to admit I didn’t feel secure at all. Buy this is something you can not see unless you arrive there. I asked for a partial refound but sure I was out of time. Bad experience like a horror movie. I really hope it gets better. Other wise this place can not make money in a fair way.
