Quiet, comfortable and much more spacious than what we could see from Bookings (1 bedroom + 1 dining room with TV & lounge + 1 bathroom all for our private use). It’s at a very strategic location, close to both the Rye Natural Reservation/Harbour/Beach and the town. We explored town in day time, checked in at around 17:00 then spent sunset time and early mornings near the harbour, which turned out to be a great weekend trip plan!
Not a bit issue but the narrow lane leading to the house can be a bit hidden and one needs to drive more slowly & carefully

Janette and Rob were most welcoming to The Gem. Everything was very well apportioned and clean. We enjoyed Janette’s fresh fruit breakfasts in her intriguing garden. The Gem was in a wonderful location to explore the area of Winchelsea and Rye.
