B&B Sole e Luna

A couple of things we liked. Very friendly and helpful owners. Leticia attended all( and some more ) of our requests. For those who want a quiet place outside the chaotic center of Palermo, an excellent choice! We had our own car, so easy. Rooms quit, breakfast in a beautiful setting and even a big swimming pool and private kitchen if you want to cook!

The hosts were very welcoming and looked after us very well. Everything was very clean and we found more than we had expected ( a very generous and varied breakfast, a kitchen exclusively for our use, access to a beautiful swimming pool, a private jacuzzi, and staff always at hand). But the biggest surprise was the stunning view over Palermo and the entertainment of watching light aircrafts and helicopters flying in and out of the little airport below.

Renting the smallest car possible to reach and park at the properly is highly recommended. Non-Italian drivers might like to plan to arrive in daylight hours because roads are narrow around the area.

How to neatly package this unique 5* beautiful resort into a short review! First of all, if you are obsessed with cleanliness, this is the place for you. It was spotless. Everywhere. A dedicated team keep Sole e Luna impeccably clean and you’ll be hard pushed to find a bin with anything in it. Secondly, the beds are unbelievably comfortable. Your biggest fear is a bad bed - fear not! We slept better than at home. The quality of pillows, mattress covers and duvets is 5 star. You will have the best night’s sleep you didn’t expect!!!! Thirdly, the hosts here cannot do enough for you, whilst simultaneously managing to provide you with privacy. It’s uncanny. We would recommend car hire for those who wish to do lots of sightseeing. In our case we really wanted to be “still” for a few days. But in a charming turn, it transpired that we had a gentle “taxi” service via the hosts. Ever so slightly cheaper than the local taxis, we were able to plan some trips out and about to Mondello Beach and one of the markets in Palermo city centre. Seriously these guys are th best. Finally, the pool is a delight. We were exhausted and tired when we arrived. All we wanted to do was have a quick swim and relax by the pool. Marcello served us the coldest beers we thought possible and made us the most delicious tuna sandwich we think we have ever had. He knows how to deal with weary travellers!! And the temperature of the water was perfect for the climate. From a location point of view, you will not get a better view of Palermo and the sea beyond. We simply could not recommend Sole e Luna highly enough. We feel like we hit the jackpot!!

Heel vriendelijk ontvangst door Letizia met duidelijke uitleg in uitstekend Engels. Ook de digitale PDF die wij erna kregen erg behulpzaam. Mooie locatie die je niet verwacht achter het groene hek met lekker zwembad en vriendelijk lachende Marcello voor drankjes. Ook de hulp bij bestellen van een Pizza was erg fijn zodat wij na drukke reisdag niet nog met de auto op pad hoefden voor het eten. Ook erg fijn dat wij op de dag van ons vertrek laat konden uitchecken zodat wij lekker nog konden relaxen in zwembad voordat wij richting luchthaven vertrokken.

Het bed was aan de zachte kant maar voor ons geen probleem. Beter dan de soms te harde bedden die wij tijdens onze rondreis op Sicilië veelal hadden.
