Sorry but it was not worth the price we paid

The bedding was clean. good supply of hot water. bedrooms, bathroom & toilet acceptably clean

The claims of Terrace, Garden view, Mountain view, Landmark view, City view, Inner courtyard view, & soundproofing are simply not true, there was a tiny area outside the very dirty kitchen windows with no furniture that was the only view out downstairs, there was just a view of the cottage opposite from the middle walk through bedroom. That bed was so old & saggy it was not sleepable on. the other bedroom bed was better but the rooflight blind was so ripped it let a lot of light in. The kitchen area was very tired & like the windows needed better cleaning (eg mouldy fridge). When we went to bed we could hear every word from next door, luckily they did not stay up late.

An authentic place with character in the very center

An authentic hotel in the city center, just a 2-minute walk from the waterfront. Interesting interior, an old building with its own unique atmosphere. Communication with the owner beforehand was easy and constructive — they respond quickly.

Late check-in (after 9 PM) costs €15. Not exactly a downside, but it does come at an extra charge. I missed having a towel or a bath mat for the floor in the bathroom, and it took quite a while to adjust the water temperature.

Polite host. Bad hotel.

The TV. Two separate beds with no AC. The town of Boullion is scenic and beautiful with its canal and castle on the hill overlooking the Ardennes town.

For the love of God! Please! Avoid this oblivion of miscellaneous objects that shouldn't exist in a so-called hotel. Flies everywhere and other assorted creatures like spiders. Tons of spiders with cobwebs. Sticky windowsills and a toilet you can't close and lock. Space outdoors to make room for a septic tank or what it appears to be. A see through glass in the bathroom... Nice touch of lack for privacy. And the beds hehe... Don't let me start with the beds.... At least one was good. But mine was so soft that I actually sank to the floor. Both rooms were decorated with huge branches which took huge spaces. And the stairs between the bathroom/toilet to the bedroom was slippery and deformed. Dangerous for tall people. Why you wonder? The space between the stairs and roof is low. The other guest hit his head about four times. The host was good. Excellent communicator. But the hostess couldn't even understand English nor French, in a region where the inhabitants speak French. All and all.... Don't even think about it. Use only for last resort or for a future story to tell your kids and grandchildren.

Great Artisan B&B. For the people who like atypical hotels

All good. Free parking just next to the property is very important considering deficit of parking space in teh city

We liked everything, but the atypical artisan setting and narrow, steep stairs (very beautiful and ancient) can be challenging for people who are used to more traditional hotels

Stay away from lion

The lorry start unload at 06.30 just outside my window. 12€ for keeping my bicycle. 8 or 10€ (I don't remember) for an omelette with 5 croissant in the morning and 15€ deposition for the key. I returned the key, I have not seen any return on my account after two weeks.

This is a small hotel with few rooms, accessed by a quaint spiral staircase. I liked this but I could understand it would not suit elderly or people with mobility problems. The breakfast was really nice and served in the bedroom. I am impressed that the lady who prepared it could carry a tray of food up those stairs, but she did, with a smile 🙂

The location and the friendly welcome from the owners.

It wasn't clean. The animalskins on the floor lose their hair and the bathroom was not clean at all. The bin was still full with trash of the previous couple that stayed there.

Bouillon is a lovely town/city

The location was excellent. Bouillon is stunning. Breakfast was very good. The host was friendly.

I have learnt to read the property description, if I had done this time I would have seen that the owner mentions steep narrow stairs. They are narrow and they are steep. (This wouldn't be allowed in the UK due to fire regs). No good if you have mobility issues. Be aware if you care for animals and other animal welfare, as there are pelts used as rugs on the floor and skulls of some animal on the wall of the bedroom. I've no idea if they are real or fake. Also, if you are offended with nudity, then there are paintings of ladies in the stairs and in the rooms. I'm not. But some maybe. The bed isn't the comfiest, but alright for an old bike like me. There is mention of a drink or chocolate on arrival. This did not materialize.

Great quirky place, great value for money!

The location was great ..with a free car park outside the front for motorcycle.. we had a good welcome..check in was easy. The room was up some spiral stairs ..which could be a problem for some with lots of baggage. The room was clean with good en-suite shower . The bed was comfortable although a bit small. Breakfast was a lovely touch ..presented well and plentiful.

Quirky and comfortable. Excellent shower, tea and coffee and kettle etc in the room. Dramatic and picturesque location. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice area, but overpriced if you are expecting a house.

The location is central to town and close to the river and local bars and restaurants.

The property wasn't what we anticipated from the description; more of a small flat, than holiday house, family suite or cottage. Fortunately, we were only booked for one night. Our payment was deducted immediately upon booking, along with a 100 Euro security deposit and not pay on arrival, as listed on Booking.com . Security deposit was to be refunded on departure, but took four weeks, along with regular messages and requests.
