Villa Mungkala

I had a wonderful stay at Villa Mungkala! I was especially touched by the warmth and friendliness of the people here. My flight arrived very late at night, and everything was prepared perfectly for me to check in with detailed instructions. I felt very well taken care of. A simple but truly heartwarming place with a lovely atmosphere. I enjoyed my stay very much and can wholeheartedly recommend Villa Mungkala!

really nice ambience

Loved this place. The location is amazing. It’s down a small and quaint ‘alley’ (you can just about fit a car down it) and it’s dead quiet despite being just a 2min stroll out onto the bigger streets. The room itself was really cosy and the lobby/breakfast area is lovely. The staff were awesome and extremely helpful. I booked tickets for Muay Thai at Rajadamnern and then the host told me she could have got me a discount so if you stay here check with the staff before booking. I got the sense that it’s a family hotel and everyone is lovely. The really highlight was that I made a friend while in Bangkok and we decided to go out for the day and then for dinner in the evening. She lived over in a different area but the hotel let her leave her bag in my room and even use my shower between our day and evening activities to save her going home - really nice. If I ever go back to Bangkok I’ll stay here again. Wall mounted TV in the rooms also a nice touch!!

A simple breakfast of my choice was provided and enjoyed. The staff were very helpful and pleasant always. The property is 120 years old and you can see the comfortable history everywhere. The property is located in an old part of the city by a canal where amenities and character abound.

We were on the top floor so the stairs could be a bit of an ordeal if you have an injury. Thats all.
