Villa Mungkala

A simple breakfast of my choice was provided and enjoyed. The staff were very helpful and pleasant always. The property is 120 years old and you can see the comfortable history everywhere. The property is located in an old part of the city by a canal where amenities and character abound.

We were on the top floor so the stairs could be a bit of an ordeal if you have an injury. Thats all.

The staff here are incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We arrived quite exhausted, and we were so incredibly appreciative when they went out of their way to serve us something to eat right away. That level of care and thoughtfulness is rare and instantly made us feel at home. ​Our room was absolutely massive, giving us plenty of space to unpack and relax, yet it maintained a warm, inviting, and comfortable atmosphere that made it hard to leave.

The owner and staff were fantastic and extremely friendly and provided recommendations and good advice. The room was clean and as expected from the photos. Breakfast was good and served with a smile. Great location near Khao San Road but still quiet. When I am back in Bangkok I will definitely stay again!

We wanted to stay in a place that didn't feel like a corporate Bangkok with highrises and rooftop pools and Villa Mungkala fully delivered. In fact it offered more than we had hoped for. Localization is in the old part of Bangkok is perfect for someone who wants to explore the city on foot and feel it. The lady running this guesthouse is very friendly and helpful, they go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The room was very spacious and well equipped - again all we could have hoped for. Stay here if you're want to see Bangkok beyond the highrises, if you're Ok with taxi not reaching the doorstep (yes, you will be walking on narrow alleys along the canals - that's part of the charm) and ready to experience the city from a difference angle - You won't be disappointed!
