Cute, quaint and would stay again

Communication wonderful before stay, Beth on arrival was more than accommodating. Cosy, country old style and warming stay. Room cute, warmed before arrival, lovely style overall.

The bathroom could of been a little updated, also the toilet flushing system not 100% and few more shelves..

Think it's normally a min 2 night stay but no problem for just 1. Great local community pub with a good selection of local beers

Lovely old pub and room but really noticed the cold.

Comfortable bed, room off beer garden. Lovely furnishings, hairdryer and hot shower.

No central heating so room was freezing when I arrived. They did provide an oil radiator and electric heater but room took several hours to heat up both before I went out and when I got back. I wasnt keen to leave heaters on while out for 6 hours. Felt it was expensive without central heating or breakfast.

Nice place to stay for a weekend.

Friendly staff, great location. Communication was good as they let us know in advance they do not serve food and there is a cafe in a few minutes walk. They were helpful when we needed an iron.

The room was very clean and comfortable. It had all the facilities of a 3/4 star hotel as well as have family in the area we will definitely stay again

Fantastic pub in the heart of Elsecar, arrived back late on Friday and the party vibes we're in full swing, loved it. Lovely original features pub. Room we're clean and modern. Incredible value.

The place was easy to find. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was excellent, comfortable, modern and clean. Parking very closeby. A great place to stay and the price was economically excellent.

The room was a bit too warm, even with the window open, but I slept soundly.

Perfect for an overnight stay

Located in a beautiful village. Clean and tidy room with all you need for an overnight stay. It’s not the ritz but excellent value for money.

It’s in a pub, so comes with the noise you’d associate with people enjoying themselves however, it’s within pub licensing hours and is turned down / off when it should be. The WiFi was pretty non existent so if you’re someone who lives on social media, you’ll need your 4G allowance.

Great location. Parking was very easy - loads of spaces. Accommodation was just what we needed - clean, comfortable & spacious. Everything was provided towels, toiletries, tea & coffee. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Definitely stay again.

A very pleasant stay, I was attending a family reunion nearby and the location was ideal for me

I found the staff there were very friendly and helpful, I was personally shown to my room by one of the staff and the room was very clean and comfortable. It was good value for money and I would recommend staying here to anyone

Noisy Pigeons and their droppings.. noise mainly because it was so warm we needed the window open and the nest box was just outside our window. Shower diverter needs fixing.

Nice enough stay but a few tweaks could make it better

Keys are collected from the bar at the pub. There was no signage for guests and we waited some time to be noticed until we were greeted and shown to our room. No real intro to the area by a team member who was just finishing their shift, but overheard another member explaining where to eat to a later check-in guest (they don't do any food at the pub/hotel). Friendly enough staff from then on and a helpful member of staff in the morning to give the key back. A couple of pubs up the road serving food/dinner and a few places for breakfast nearby. There is a free car park just along the road to the right of the pub entrance, if you drive to the very back and through the gap then this conveniently brings you to behind the hotel/pub where you can cut through with bags.

It wasn't very clear on arrival. The room was quite hot with a skylight (no blind) above the bed, letting the light in from 4 am.

The room was basic but clean and comfortable and great value for the price. The staff are helpful and friendly. Food is not served but there are excellent cafés nearby. The pub serves an excellent range of hand pulled beers Highly recommend.

A perfect place for night before a meeting . Everything was clean, new and comfy

Clean fresh lovely grey decor bedside tables and lamps . Loads of tea coffee sachets and shower equipment and tv. Plus ironing board, hangars and heaters as was a tad cool at night. Excellent value for money. Ideal situation to get to my meeting

Bit concerned it opened straight onto beer garden . Perhaps have a fence as was a bit noisy but ok. key was a bit wonky but worked ok after a bit if a wiggle

Lovely room but poor WiFi service, put WiFi password in the room

It was a lovely room albeit a bit small. The bed was super comfy but the tea coffee tray lacked a little, hot chocolate could have been included.

No Breakfast such a shame, small room , the towels were very rough to the touch could do with a little softener. Small selection just tea or coffee
