Love Laon but disappointed with accommodation. Never saw owner.

No complimentary tea/cooee. No shampoo or soap.

Central but could only park for 90mins. Had to find car park 15 min walk away.

Good location, let down by lack of care and maintenance.

The bed linen was clean and double bed comfortable. The location is good for exploring the old town, nearby restaurants and cathedral.

The complaints expressed by many other visitors over the last 3 years are all still present, making the room and especially the communal areas feel neglected. In the room: the window glass is cracked and broken. The shower curtain is mouldy and yellowing. The bathroom is dirty in places (door and paintwork, shower head, tiles and seals). Ceiling paint is peeling. There were no bathroom products just an empty jar? Light bulbs have blown. The bar adjacent to the property was noisy in the early hours. As guests have said before, the advert for the room is (also in my opinion) rather misleading. The listing clearly states that the room is for 2 people and contains 2 beds (a single/sofa and a double) and that if a "cot or an extra bed" for children are required, these need to be reserved and will be charged according to the age of the child. What guests are caught out by is that for 2 adults, only the double bed will be made up, and obtaining an extra sheet and pillow for the second bed as listed will cost an additonal 15 Euro! Despite being clearly advertised as a 2 bed room, unless you want to share a bed with your fellow traveller, you need to pay more. The location and price is very good, but just some basic attention to detail - i.e. a new shower curtain, repairing the broken window, refilling toiletries, changing blown light bulbs and refreshing dirty paintwork etc. would make all the difference, along with making clear the bed policy for 2 adults.

You get what you pay for

Undoubtedly good value with its large, comfortable room, and a proper bath. (I do like to relax in hot water after a long day's drive.) However....

Difficult to find, even if your navigator is working properly. Situated in a narrow one-way street, the signage isn't as visible as that of the shops and cafes amongst which it hides. The fact that the awning was covering the sign didn't help. And once you've gone past it, there's no turning back. I can't give the staff a realistic rating as there weren't any. Not even a receptionist at the reception desk which was tantalisingly visible through the locked glass doors. WiFi was iffy, and contacting the management very difficult. The most helpful person was a fellow guest who told me that breakfast was only available to those who had paid more. Which is fair enough. I would willingly have paid more, if only to salve my guilt at the low price I was paying, but I don't remember being given the option.

Terrible Owner/ Great Nephew who helped

Location, Price.

The Owner, he was being un reasonable and un willing to help. If it weren’t for his nephew, who heard the owner wouldn’t open the door, we would’ve been locked out and never allowed to stay. The Nephew was trying to help resolve the issue, which he did by personally calling his Uncle. He should be working there and dealing with Guests. The owner clearly doesn’t care.

A good place in the heart of Laon

Zohra did very friendly show me my big room with a comfortable bed. It helped me as the location was right in the center of the old town.

Happy to stay here again

Excellent location in centre of 'old' Laon. It's the second time we've stayed here. Very good for single night stopover. Warm rooms, comfortable beds, quiet (despite bar next door which we couldn't here at all). Plenty of restaurants nearby - Grill L'AMAÏDÉ (good pizzas) is a short walk and stays open until 10pm. The door for the apartment is not easy to spot - and remember to call the host when you arrive (if they don't answer the door/aren't open). We stayed in a double room; the 3 children stayed in a triple room on the same floor across the landing. We will happily stay here again.

Parking close by can be a little awkward. But it's an easy drop off with plenty of parking around 5-mins walk away.

Arrived early and was told I could have the room at any time. However was asked to pay by PayPal which didn't work for me. Could not deposit my bags which I had to carry with me for hours. Prefer normal Booking.cpm method of payment.

Location was amazing. On a cobbled street in the centre of Laon. Few minutes walk from the cathedral. Lady running the property was delightful and very helpful. Very comfortable bed!

All good. A few reviews had said about the room hadn't been warmed up before they arrived with the weather outside being -7 We asked the lady to make sure it was warm on arrival. It was toasty. Too warm actually.

The apartment itself is right on one of the main street. The room itself is large, we've got a double bed, with another sofa beside it. Free street parking available about a block away (Boulevard Michelet).

Wooden houses, we were on the 2nd floor, could hear people walking from above. Stair are bit narrow at one point, quite difficult to get up with a baby in hand. Charging €10 per baby cot (tho we've got our own).

Convenient place to stay in the centre of town

Good location, large room. Rather rustic and characterful.

The stairs were steep to the second floor, and the light didn’t come on until you reach the top, which means climbing in the dark. When we arrived there was no one at the desk. It would be helpful to receive a communication to say to ring on arrival and someone will come and let us in.

Lacked a warm welcome and hygiene, yet comfortable bed for good night's sleep

The bed was comfortabel and big Nice shower (yet very dirty shower curtain). Nicely located in the city center of Laon

Even though we arrived during check in hours nobody was present. Other guests informed us that we needed a pin code for our room and that the host usually responded quickly to text messages. After texting we received an answer quickly and could go to our room. The room wasn't very clean, the shower curtain simply gross. During check out again no one was present to say goodbye, for that reason texted again to report we had checked out.
