The gentleman at check-in was friendly and helpful. He personally carried our luggage to the room. The hotel is centrally located, clean, and comfortable.

Would recommend for a short stay in the city

Very good location and a lovely quiet hotel. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. You have a key for the front door so you can come and go as you please. The room was comfy - the entire hotel is sand-themed with floors named after deserts, and the decor is nice and a little old-fashioned (in a good way, though this is subjective). It’s also really close to the train station and the cathedral.

This didn’t affect me personally, but there is no lift so accessibility may be a concern for some

Good value, great location

Check in and check out were quick and efficient. Location was wonderful, quick access to the train station and close to the Cathedral and Christmas Markets. Room was suitable to our needs, nothing fancy, comfortable bed, good water pressure in shower, clean facility.

We had a lovely stay in Cologne and one of the main reasons was we had booked to stay here.

The location was excellent. You can’t get any better in my opinion. 2mins walk to Central Station and the Cathedral. The 2 members of staff that met us upon arrival were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay.

There was nothing not to like about this property. If you are looking for a clean, central friendly hotel, then look no further.

Clean, convenient basic hotel with good staff

Good location, helpful staff. Room was basic but clean and more than adequate. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced

Three fights of stairs to our room (3.2), OK for us (early 70s) but might be an issues for the less fit/infirm/older person. This was, however, clear at booking stage so an observation not a complaint

Great location, great staff, not so great bedroom

The location is unbeatable: it's walking distance from the train station! The staff was incredibly kind and helpful! They were very keen to make conversation and help us by giving tips on what to see! The breakfast, although not included, was wonderful! We found it very complete and delicious!

The bedroom. It was smaller than expected - it did not correspond to the pictures. The fact that it was an apartment restructured as several rooms did not help: the balcony was shared with one of the other rooms - although having a physical wood separator, we could hear our neighbors talking the whole night there, even with our windows closed. The bed was not comfortable: the mattress felt weird, and the pillow was enormous and just horrible to sleep. Also, the fact that the room doesn't have AC is a downside: the room gets really warm on warm days, and the provided fan doesn't help much. During our stay, we barely slept on the first night due to this. We were a bit luckier on the following nights because the temperature dropped considerably.

Great experience!

Everything was perfect, both room and bathroom were extremely clean, the bed was super comfy and most importantly hotel is located just a few minutes from central station and cathedral, what makes travelling unbelievably convenient. Check-in was easy and the staff made us feel welcome. The price was really reasonable :)

Great hotel for just a few days

For a few days this hotel is perfect. As long as you keep the windows closed it’s pretty quiet. Average sized room with a good bathroom.

The room didn’t have an airco, which is a must on the top floor bc you cannot open the windows w/out being bothered by the noise during the day and night. The hotel is very basic for the price you pay per night.

More than pleasant.

We had to leave early, hence no breakfast. The location of the hotel for us is ideal, only a few steps from the railroad station, the cathedral, the shopping area and public transportation. The owners are super friendly and accommodating.

Great location and great staff!

The location was very nice! Easy two minute walk from the train station and the cathedral. Quick 10-15 minute walk to anywhere else in the city I wanted to visit. The room was nice and it had a nice fan to use. I needed to check in after the front desk had closed and it was very easy. Staff was very kind! There are two kiosks right next door which is very convenient as well!

They are very up front about this, but there is no elevator. It’s a small and somewhat winding staircase. I am in Germany for two months and have a very large suitcase as well as a carry on suitcase, so this proved to be very difficult to go to the fourth floor (fifth floor American standards) with so much luggage. The hotel is very up front about not having an elevator, so this is not a negative!! Just something to be aware of if you’re like me and have a lot of luggage…

Comfortable quiet hotel near main station and cathedral

The hotel is 5 mins walk from the main train station and the Cathedral. From our small balcony we had a view of the Cathedral. The room was small for two people but met our needs. We appreciated having tea making facilities in the room. The bed was comfortable and the soundproofing so good that we slept well and were not bothered by the Cathedral bells. We arrived at a time when there were events on in the city and hotel rooms were at premium prices.

One of the best places I have stayed in

This was one the best places I have been to. Personel was super nice and helpful, Apartment was big and cosy. It had everything needed for a longer stay. The details in the room were so lovely. I loved the view from windows on the cathedral - location was perfect. Hope to stay here next time I am in Cologne.
