Princess of Dickoya Homestay

The accommodation was spacious & very clean with fantastic views, in a great location. What made all the difference were the warm, welcoming and helpful hosts who provided generous, tasty food and lots of valuable tips.

We had a wonderful stay at Princess of Dickoya Homestay and would recommend it to anyone visiting this part of Sri Lanka. The hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. On our first evening, they took us on a fantastic guided walk through the tea plantation just behind the homestay. It was such a special experience, and we even got to watch local children playing cricket, which made it feel like a real glimpse into everyday life here. The food was exceptional. Breakfasts were delicious, and the homemade dinners were the best rice and curry we’ve had anywhere in Sri Lanka. Our children absolutely loved the fresh roti, and every meal was prepared with so much care. Our family room was huge, with four double beds, making it perfect for our family of four. We also had a beautiful view over the surrounding hills, which was lovely to wake up to each morning. If you’re visiting the Hatton or Dickoya area, don’t hesitate to stay here. It offers Sri Lankan hospitality, amazing home-cooked food and an experience you’ll remember long after your trip.

Room was very well kept and clean and Saman & his wife was very hospitable and helpful. Had a great time and they even made special breakfast as I was celebrating my birthday.

Coming from the main road to the property you need to be careful as the road is narrow.

This was one of the most peaceful and relaxing places during our Sri Lanka trip. Surrounded by beautiful tea plantations, the location offered breathtaking views, especially during sunrise when the mist moved through the hills. The family atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming, and we always felt very well taken care of. The hosts were extremely helpful in organizing excursions and even arranged a tuk tuk in the middle of the night for our Adam’s Peak hike. A true highlight — besides the hospitality — was the amazing authentic Sri Lankan food. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, varied and freshly prepared every day. We especially appreciated that they thoughtfully adapted some dishes for our children, who could not eat very spicy food. A wonderful place to experience the beauty of Sri Lanka’s hill country together with genuine hospitality.
