Terrible - stank of grease & cigarretes, expensive parking, dodgey alleyway entrance

Host met us at the property and kindly showed us around.

Not as advertised. The advert photos do not show that it is accessed through a strange dirty alleyway and above two takeways (chip & kebab), who's chimneys are either side of the bedroom window (see our photos). On Friday night, the take aways pumped out constant mixed greasey smells into the bedroom, even with window closed. We could not get fresh air via the front window because it's above the take away entrances which are noisey and directly above a smokers bin. So no windows to open for fresh ait and very strong grease and cigarette smells filled the property until the early hours of the morning, meaning that we could not sleep until ~2am. The bed was 3/4 not full double sized. The parking was paid, in between pubs and take aways. Unfortunately a drunk person scratched our car (not the hosts fault, but still added to the overall experience). We left early after one of our two planned nights.

Historic and homely

First time staying here and what a lovely place! Really ideal location and Tele is an excellent host. The apartment is so cosy with fantastic views of the surrounding hills and town and the history of the building is apparent I absolutely loved it! The shower was great and the bed so very comfy. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality Tele and I will definitely be back in the new year as soon as possible because having stayed in Macclesfield a lot this was up there for a great stay. Your takeaway food is also delicious and I appreciate the breakfast items though don't really drink milk.. Best wishes

Someone coughing in an adjoining apartment.. a lot. I wanted them to get to a pharmacy but can't really do anything about that 🤣. The apartment was lovely so no complaints about that at all ☺️

Well equipped, great view, light and airy. Very interesting to be in an historic building. Well provided for breakfast. Good TV. Paid parking available outside. Some on side of street.

Instructions for electric hob would have been helpful, as I've had a gas one at home for years and haven't ever used a modern electric one.

Friendly owner (from the chippy below), very nice man. Apartment was good, had pretty much everything you need, clean.

No shampoo and conditioner, if I'd of know I would of brought some. Can't wash my hair without but then again Aldi only across the road.

it was lovely and clean and and had everything needed for our stay plus some extras . Tele was very helpful and made sure we didn’t need anything . A continental breakfast was provided with cheeses , jams , butter and milk plus tea and coffee and some condiments and provided a microwave on request .

it was very noisy . we were surrounded by other apartments not all owned by this company and unfortunately they were very loud . the room was a bit small for us but may not be for others

Perfect pied-a-terre for work, or leisure, especially if you want to self-cater.

Telly was extremely accommodating to arrange transfer of keys, and a quick tour of the property. The facilities were clean, adequately supplied with linens, kitchen utensils, wifi, full cooker/stove. It was perfect for my needs (a self-contained place from which to visit a sick relative). Proximity to the centre of town, and the train station is a whopping PLUS!

The bedroom is tiny. Fine for one person, but the bed would have been difficult for two (being pushed against two walls, no exit for second person). Change the wardrobe to something smaller, and free the bed up for two people, and I would have stayed there once my husband joined me in England. Also, given that some of your clients are there to work, a small desk (even a collapsible one) would greatly improve the appeal. (I had mountains of papers to sort through, and a desk would have made that much easier) (Note that you have two flights of external stairs to manage to access this lovely loft!)

Bread and croissants left for us to help ourselves. Milk, butter etc in the fridge. Plentiful supply of coffee, tea etc. It suited us to be able to have breakfast as and when we wanted.

The bedroom was a tight squeeze with the bed against the wall. It made it difficult for getting in and out in the night.

Superb

Very convenient location, in the middle of Macclesfield, opposite the train station. The bus station is close by too. It's on the edge of the high street shops. There are supermarkets close by within walking distance and Tesco Superstore is less than 5-minute drive away. On the same street as the property are takeaways, including the fish and chip shop run by the proprietor. I was in a top floor apartment which was very bright and had views of Macclesfield and the surrounding hills. The apartment is well equipped, though there is no microwave. Tele, the proprietor laid out a generous supply of food for breakfast, which I really appreciated. The apartment was clean, warm and had a big-screen smart TV, which gave it a home from home feeling. Tele was very welcoming, helpful and is attentive to his guests. I would recommend this property and would stay there again.

There wasn't anything to dislike. Be mindful that the car park is conveniently right in front of the property, though it is pay and display/pay-by-phone Mon-Saturday 8-6pm, and it is a popular parking spot by day and in the early evening. There are other car parks nearby, that are also payable. A car-free trip is feasible as Macclesfield train station is opposite Waters Green, and has good services.

In a perfect location this beautiful loft apartment had all that we needed for a comfortable weekend away. Clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. I will definitely be using this again.
