Tattykeel House is a truly unique, relaxing, and immaculate home-from-home property offering great value. Its layout gives you the best of both worlds: convenient main road access with private parking at the front, opening up to stunning, peaceful countryside and grazing cattle at the back. The character-filled rooms are exceptionally comfortable and spotlessly clean, seamlessly blended with modern facilities and excellent Wi-Fi, fresh garden flowers, and high-quality linens that ensured a perfect night’s sleep. Our visit was incredibly sentimental as we brought my partner's dad in his 90th year back to his hometown, and Hugh's surprising extensive local knowledge was absolutely invaluable to us. The hospitality was unmatched; we were completely enthralled by Kathleen’s beautiful paintings, hand-painted silks, and textiles displayed throughout the house. Her daily home-baked treats and the delicious, varied home-cooked breakfasts—complete with fresh fruit and home-baked breads—were a real joy. Between the stunning landscaped gardens and the genuine warmth, this stay will always be remembered with deep fondness. The hosts, Hugh and Kathleen, made me feel like I was visiting relatives. I felt doted on. They gave me recommendations on places to visit, asked about my day when I returned at night, and just went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and taken care of. There was always tea and treats available, and breakfast was amazing. They were both just lovely. My room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and my views were stunning.
