Simone was very friendly and kind. He sent us directions on how to get to the hotel from Fiumicino Airport when we landed, helped us with our luggage when we got to the hotel, and subsequently shared directions for getting to popular tourist attractions from the hotel, as well as his recommendations for where to eat. I really appreciated the calm and privacy that came with the location of the hotel. I definitely always felt safe walking in the neighbourhood. There seemed to be a small number of guest rooms in the building, which maintained an authentic rather than a commercial atmosphere. Our room was a good size, provided a great sanctuary from the summer heat, and we at no point heard any noise pollution from outside. The AC and the remote-operated blinds were very handy and easy to use. We made good use of the mini fridge in our room, which also kept being refilled with a bottle of water for each of us daily. The bathroom was very clean and also a good size. I liked that there was room around the sink to place our toiletries.

The water in the shower sometimes took a while to warm up when you were the first person to use it that day, and the water pressure was quite weak. It wasn't a big problem for us, though.

The place was pretty clean and the beds were extremely comfortable.

We were accomodated in the basement (!) and there was not enough fresh air in the room, as there was only one window, that could not open more than a couple of centimetres. Only one person from the whole staff spoke any English - As we arrived on our first day, we could not understand a single word and the hostess was speaking only Italian!
