The location was ideal
The staff were super helpful and friendly
The breakfast at the restaurant, Terra, was excellent and the staff there were very good. One of the waiters even went above and beyond by recommending a laundromat to us, walked to the laundromat and took a picture of their prices, address etc and came back to show us, while we were still eating our meal…..now that is 5-star service!!!!
If we have to be critical…Maybe the parking….but we walked everywhere we needed to go as it was such a central location

The hotel is in a great location on Dorp Street, handy for everything around the centre of Stellenbosch. Staff are great and the breakfasts at the restaurant were superb!
The wifi sdidn't work in the room for the first day of our stay and there was a faint smell in our room.

The location was convenient
Noisy room, no coat hangers, plug points damaged , definitely not 5 star

From the moment we arrived at 107 Dorpstraat, we were greeted warmly and professionally, with an easy, friendly check-in that set the tone for the stay. The staff really are the standout feature here: attentive, proactive, and genuinely lovely. Any minor issues we had with the room were dealt with quickly and to our complete satisfaction, and it genuinely feels like people enjoy working here.
Breakfast is available, and once again the staff are friendly and accommodating. The menu, however, is quite limited and leans toward the overly fancy. Some simpler, lighter options (like poached eggs and toast) would be very welcome, especially for longer stays when a rich breakfast every morning can be a bit much.
The bar is a pleasant spot to sit in the evening and watch the world go by, though it closes quite early and isn’t open on Sundays - fairly typical for Stellenbosch, but still worth noting.
Location-wise, the hotel really excels. It’s set on a peaceful street lined with cafés, bars, shops, and a market, and it’s only a five-minute walk from the livelier Church Street.
Overall, this is a small hotel that generally makes very good use of the space and resources it has.
It has a fantastic team and an excellent location, but would really benefit from some practical improvements to rooms and facilities to fully match the warmth and quality of the service.
We stayed in the self-catering family suite. While the website notes that it has been recently renovated, it already feels a little worn and in need of some maintenance. The suite is well equipped in principle, but there are some practical oversights - for a “family” room, having just one clothes hanger and one set of cutlery available feels oddly inadequate. Space is also quite tight; even for two people it feels snug, and it would be a real squeeze for a family of four, particularly with the sofa bed in use.
The bathroom layout is another drawback. Instead of a proper door, it has loosely sliding door that doesn’t fully close or seal, which means privacy is limited. This is made worse by an unpleasant drain smell at times, something a proper door would help contain.
On the plus side, the balcony at the back is a lovely feature, with a table where you can enjoy the sunshine. Unfortunately, that same sunshine becomes a problem early in the morning as the room has sheer, non-blackout curtains. As soon as the sun rises, the room fills with light, making sleep difficult. The suite’s location behind the main building also means early-morning staff activity, with noticeable noise from shouting and moving items around - not ideal for light sleepers.
Parking is available if you are lucky. There are four spaces available, but they are very tight, making it stressful to manoeuvre in and out. There is a supervised public car park just a couple of minutes’ walk away, which we found to be a much easier option and would recommend.

The location is perfect in the center of Stellenbosch.
I had a room at the back. The hallway was a to and fro for staff in the early morning. It sounded as though they were in my room.

As the hotel is due to be renovated, they had closed their restaurant and breakfast was provided by the restaurant downstairs - Terra. The breakfast was really excellent. The bed was comfortable. The location is really central.
The underground parking provided was so small that it was almost impossible to get your car out unless you have a Very Small Car. There are only a few parking bays on the road, and the public parking area around the corner is not good for night parking. Saying that, the gentleman on night duty offered to move our car from the pavement opposite (we had parked illegally at the end of the day within sight of the hotel) when a legal parking became available which he very kindly did.
The hotel is due for renovation by the new owners and as such the rooms appear tired. There was damp on our wall, the loo roll holder had fallen out, the hole not patched over and a portable loo roll holder was availabe, the silicone at the bottom of the shower was coming loose. So one understands that as they are going to be renovating they do not want to spend any money on upkeep but one expects more from the price.

tacky bathroom needing urgent attention, smelly drains made whole room stink as no door. noisy extractor system outside room. certainly not luxury as advertised! very expensive mediocre room.

Breakfast was excellent. Location is good but not excellent. Helpful reception staff. Window soundproofing excellent.
Lack of adequate parking is a major issue. Only a few spots. You have to arrive early to get a parking spot. The staff try to help with suggestions and assistance but it is still a hassle.

The location was excellent, situated on Dorp Street, one of the Main roads in the centre of Stellenbosch, vibey cafes, restaurants and bars within walking distance. The rooms were modern and spacious. The hotel has a curb side cafe where breakfast is served.
Limited off street parking.

Well located for my needs
Restaurant was being renovated and breakfast option across the road didn’t open early enough.
Bed was too soft, pillows and duvet lumpy, TV not working. Bathroom was clean but shower door old and seal broken. Smell of bleach/cleaning chemicals unpleasant considering there’s no door to the bedroom. Need a room diffuser or something to smell more pleasant. Cupboard door in the communal area fell off during the night.

The location
I thought the place needed a good clean, such as the curtains, and the linen was old. Overall just a bit grubby.

very good.
our room was next to the elevator

The location of this hotel is excellent, close to shops, restaurants and attractions. The staff were also exceptionally helpful and always ready to assist. The room (Fynbos) was comfortable and I had everything I needed all wrapped in a beautiful soundproof wrapping. Plus the wifi is super fast.
The hotel does need a little maintenance and general updating. Some small things like sealant coming off the shower door, wallpaper that is starting to peel and light water damage is visible in places. And while the breakfast is tasty and fresh, I would have expected it to have a larger variety especially with all the bakeries around and the price charged.

Comfortable bed. Decent TV. Even thought it is on a busy road, the windows are double glazed and block the traffic noise. Good breakfast

It’s actually the second time we’ve booked into 107 dorpstraat boutique hotel! It’s very central and amazing for a weekend stay!
The breakfast is amazing and the staff is just next level helpful and kind!
The parking in not ideal as it’s very narrow. We decided to park on the road and the night shift was so kind to have an eye on our car

The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were really nicely appointed. Breakfast was really good with great choices. Lovely quirky place with loads of charm with amazing staff available if needed.
If I must nitpick the parking is tight but at least it's an option.

Friendly morning staff during breakfast. Good breakfast provided.
Poor check-in and service by the male staff member. He was annoyed with me, even though I did inform them I will be checking in late. He also didn't follow instructions for check-out, and I was parked in, ending up being late for an important training and another guest being woken up. Another lady had to help me and run around. Will never stay there again. Hotel also not maintained with broken cupboards, chip marks and lack of attention to detail.

Clean and good breakfast thus value for money
There was no hot water in the room at 22:30 and no staff available at reception at the time

Great Hotel, well located, clean and friendly staff. The lift was quite an experience and enjoyed the ride up and down. The breakfast was delicious and the rainy day contributed to an excellent experience.
Noise in the street early in the morning. This wakes one up and when on a business trip it is difficult to sleep again thereafter. The double windows is not making up for the noise, however the facility remains location wise to be excellent
