We enjoyed meeting Rossana, the owner of the property. She was so affable and welcoming! We walked into Viterbo on the Via Francigena and found the property easily. The apartment is beautifully decorated and very well kept. We really enjoyed time in the courtyard at night and for coffee in the morning. We enjoyed learning to use the Bialletti coffee pot. The medieval clothing in the closet was such an interesting touch and made our stay in the property take us back in time. Such fun!! Thank you, Rossana, for such a great stay at your lovely property!!

It was a great place to stay while we explored the city and surrounding area.

The property was in a historic area of the city and near a variety of restaurants and transportation as well. We enjoyed coming “home” to it’s quiet and lovely courtyard garden. The host was extremely helpful and accommodating.

A hidden gem of a place

Our host was very friendly and helpful- thank you. The accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped. We greatly enjoyed the murals and quirky decorations. The location is perfect for setting off to explore this ancient historic town. This was our second visit; our first was during the May 1st long weekend, San Pellegrino in Fiore. For this festival the whole of the historic town is covered in the most wonderful floral displays, a must if you can make it! But the town is well worth visiting at anytime of the year. The origins of this town’s foundation began in the Etruscan period (visit- National Etruscan Museum Rocca Albornoz), and in the 13th century it became the home of the papacy for about two decades (visit – the Papal Place). You can lose yourself for hours exploring the myriad narrow medieval streets.We eat out at the Taverna Etrusca on the Via Annio, a very nice meal reasonably priced and only 2 minute walk from the accommodation. If you have a car we can strongly recommend a visit to the garden Park of the Monsters ‘Parco dei Mostri’ at Bomarzo about a 22 minute drive (approx 20 km) from Viterbo. From Viterbo we went onto visit the Etruscan Tombs at Tarquinia (Necropoli dei Monterozzi) about 35 minute drive (approx 45Km). To get the most from your visit to the tombs, either first or after, drive to the Via Giuseppe Volpini were you’ll find a car park opposite the ‘Museo Nazionale Tarquiniense’. You’ll need at least an hour and half for the museum visit and at least the same for the site of the tombs.Also there is a picnic area at the site so we bought a picnic in Viterbo before leaving. If you also want to get yourself a snack or picnic we could not recommend more highly the deli ‘Specialita Alimentari Gastronomia Gigi e Mena’ in the Piazza Fontana Grande. Here you will find a friendly welcome and a very wide range of home made dishes to suit all tastes.

Tutto! Location fantastica che vi riporterà indietro nel tempo fino al medioevo. La struttura è curata in ogni dettaglio e centralissima per visitare il centro storico di Viterbo. I proprietari sono gentilissimi e disponibilissimi; la passione per ciò che fanno vi travolgerà.

Immersi nella storia medievale di Viterbo

L'appartamento è molto accogliente. Posto in un edificio storico, conserva diversi elementi autentici, su tutti il Loco Commodo, un pozzo che veniva utilizzato durante le epidemie di peste per disfarsi dei bisogni (è a vista, protetto da un vetro antisfondamento). La proprietaria, Rossana, gentilissima, con la sua presenza molto discreta, spiega tutto con entusiasmo e ti fa sentire ben accolto, con accortezze ben superiori alla media (acqua e caffè a disposizione all'arrivo, shampoo, conditioner, bagnoschiuma, struccante, tutto di qualità, salvaslip, cotton fioc, phon). All'esterno, nel piccolo cortile c'è un tavolo con poltroncine molto comode per mangiare o semplicemente godersi un po' di tranquillità. Nel cortile c'è il "Pozzo dei desideri", che è una piccola meta turistica. Posizione ottima al centro. In 5 minuti si è nel quartiere di San Pellegrino e a San Lorenzo. Ho lasciato la macchina al parcheggio e girato tutto a piedi.

Posizionato all'interno di un cortile, l'appartamento è un po' buio ed è necessario, in alcuni momenti, accendere la luce anche durante il giorno, ma è un piccolo difetto che è facile ignorare
