B&B La Veranda - Iseo

The property was perfect for a short weekend stay. Host Flaminio was fantastic! He met us when we arrived and showed us to the car parking spot, which was 5 minute walk from the apartment. He showed us to our room which was basic but clean, with everything you need for a 2-3 day break. There was a communal fridge where he’d left us a bottle of local Prosecco, beers, juice, and water! I asked for restaurant recommendation and he booked us in to a typically Italian restaurant which he said was his (slight language barrier so I’m not 100% sure it was!), and as we arrived there later he had paid for a glass of Prosecco for us! We told him we were going to Monte isola the next day to hire bikes and cycle the island, so he gave us 2 keys and pointed to 2 bikes parked up outside and said to take them for free! The B&B itself is right in the middle of iseo, and about 50 yards from the boat stop where you can get regular ferries across to Monte isola. Recommendations - Monte isola, cycle or walk the full island stopping en router at the cafes and bars for coffee, good wine, and local food. Sunset sat at one of the lakeside bars, absolutely stunning views. Driving the coastal road around the lake. If you have a car, drive the lake checking out all the little towns. If you want to experience proper Italy without loads of tourists and inflated prices then Lake Iseo is for you!

Nothing not to like, breakfast was fairly basic and coffee far too strong for us but that’s down to personal taste. It didn’t matter though as there are many cafes where you can get amazing pastries and coffee for €2-3!

Great location with the beautiful veranda being shared between only 2 rooms. It’s a great place to relax and watch the world go by. An elderly couple run it and it feels like you’re staying with grandparents, we arrived around lunchtime and were presented with some toasty focaccia and beer/wine, very thoughtful. The breakfast is nice and left on a tray on the veranda for each room. Wish I spoke more Italian so I could have had a proper conversation with them. Good sized room and comfortable bed.

The toilet is a macerator so can be quite noisy, it also leaked slightly at the base.

The eldery host couple is very helpful. There are two bikes fir guests to use. The location is super good. It’s nice drink morning coffee on the patio watching the village wake up. Complimentary water and refreshments in the fridge for guests use. Only two rooms makes the place cozy.

It was very dirty. Dust and stains everywhere, even dishes were stainy.. In the bathroom previous guests left-over shampoos and soaps, not so fresh. The sheets and towels were clean, but during our 3 night stay they were changed once, however on request we did get new towels. Normally it wouldn’t be a problem, but there is so much dirt that ends up in the bed and it’s not nice. Seems the housekeeping is too demaning for owner’s wife alone. In these reviews someone mentioned about the personal hygiene of the owners and unfortunately that is also a problem. In small premises it is quite unpleseant. The room was according to Booking.com 25m2, but it was much smaller, so this information is not correct.

Host was great and location was good however unfortunately the property especially the bedroom/bathroom was very dirty
