Beautiful views from the rooms!!
Everything shuts down at 6pm in this area…..can’t get anything after 6pm…definitely need a scooter to go anywhere

The view was absolutely breathtaking.
Staff are all lovely and l was welcomed each morning by the beautiful dog who arrived on my balcony at around dawn each morning.
I found the bed very comfortable and the room had a choice of both medium and soft pillows.
The bathroom was great, hot water plentiful.
Bring your own beach towel because the hotel does not offer them.
If you want to leave this hotel for food, you need to get a taxi. The average cost is 400 baht (£9) each way, which makes dining out quite expensive. Yoi can also eat at the restaurant in the hotel across the beach, which is a minutes walk.
This hotel isn't really suitable for children, or anyone who cannot handle hills and steep steps. If you can, l would totally recommend this place.
Overall, it was an enjoyable stay.
The restaurant food was very average.
Not the fault of this hotel but unfortunately, the trash on the beach doesnt appear to be cleaned up regulated. I saw holiday maker sunbathing between the plastic waste. Such a shame because the beach is beautiful and magical..

We loved the bungalow, the waves gently rolling in below while sleeping with doors open was so relaxing .
There was nothing we didn’t like, except for the fact that we had to leave.

Gorgeuous view from the balcony. The room was spacious.
They cleaned the room everyday without asking.
You can snorkel straight from the beach.
Got see geckos right on the bungalow porch!
No A/C. This would have been fine, since there were two fans in the room. However the windows didn’t have mosquito nets so you couldn’t leave the windows open during night time. If they would add mosquito nets, it would improve the stay significantly.
Pillows were the worst I’ve ever had in a hotel and the bed was quite hard.
Room walls were dirty.
Kayak rental was really expensive (200 baht/hour).

Awesome view. Comfortable stay. Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Great value
No aircon but the sea breeze is fine

I would have liked to give this property a high score as its location and nearby beach and snorkelling would have warranted a 10, however, the approach is very steep and is all concrete steps and ramps, all again very steep and none of which had hand rails or anything to support the climb or descent.
On our first day my wife fell down the steps and ended up in hospital in Koh Samui with assorted injuries including a broken wrist so please be aware of the dangers.

Great staff and it’s right on the most beautiful beach rooms have an incredible view wow
Fine for me but i think have a bike, car or taxi number is needed if you come :)

The staff was so welcoming and warm ❤️ I asked for some things and nothing was a problem. Very easy going. And the view!! Gorgeous!! Overlooking the sea and Aow Leuk beach. Hearing the waves, even from my bed. And I had sun-beds on my balcony. What a dream. I even had a fridge, kettle and they cleaned my room everyday and provided water bottles.

The location is excellent. Best snorkelling we found on KT right on our doorstep. Reef sharks and so many species of fish. Staff are very kind. A lovely dog and a very friendly cat. You will need a scooter and the road is very hilly but manageable with care.
Food was very very good. I’d highly recommend the Tom Yam.
Very safe, we slept with our bay door open to catch the sea breeze.
Early morning is best from snorkelling, 6-8am.
Not much we didn’t like about Aow Leuk. Gets a bit busy during the day with snorkelling groups but not a drama. Rooms are basic but the location makes up for this and to be honest it adds to the attraction. The view from the room are amazing.

The most amazing view looking on to the beach, the bungalows are very clean with large balcony. Really quite in the nights
Access road very steep in places and no lights, as the restaurant closes at 6pm you need a taxi to eat out in the evening or be an experienced scooter rider. Aircon would have been a plus

The location is what you pay for, it's away from the madness of Sairee and Mae Haad. The beach is beautiful, the water clear and blue, good snorkeling every day. Best to do that in the morning as the bay gets crowded with boats by midday. The sunbeds near the beach are great as is being able to get food and drinks from the restaurant. The room is simple but adequate, cleaned daily. The verandah is lovely with chairs, table and hammock and the best view ever!
The lady manager is super friendly and helpful. All the staff have smiles each day!
Please note the bed is very very hard, we struggled with it and would bring some sort of mattress pad next time.
Their is no aircon due to electricity issues, two fans keep you cool enough at night but it is warm!
The restaurant provides nice food but is not cheap and there is a policy of no food and drink to be brought in. Not sure if that applies to restaurant area and outside people using sunbeds for cost of a meal.
It is a very hilly area so you need a bike to move around the island. Be warned the driveway to the hotel is super steep!! Plenty of uneven steps up and down the property to get to beach and accommodation.

Beautiful spot with an amazing view. Lovely family running the place, good food. Restaurant closes at 6pm so make sure to have dinner before that time. Snorkeling at Aow Leuk was even better than diving at Koh Tao. Saw turtle, ray, black tip reef sharks and so much more.

This is our 4th stay here and the longest so far. We like this place most on Koh Tao. Cozy bay for lovers of quiet relaxation. Convenient entrance to the sea, an interesting underwater world, the bay is not crowded in the mornings and evenings, but there are drivers and visiting tourists during the day. The hotel is very small - a few bungalows, with its restaurant and equipped beach (umbrellas, sunbeds, wifi, snorkeling equipment and kayaks for hire) on the shore. Very friendly staff. The bungalow has everything you need (kettle, refrigerator, 2 ventilators), beautiful view from the balcony, daily cleaning and towel change. Bottle of water everyday.
Maehaad pier with cafes and shops is within a 35 minutes walk (everyday fitnes) or 8 minutes by bike.
What you need to consider: there is no air conditioning in the bungalow, if you like to sleep in coolness - this is important. No beach towels. Restaurant closes at 18.00

The views are incredible. Completely blew my expectations out of the water. The beach is amazing, seeing lots of marine life including sharks. It was a nice touch that you can rent snorkels.
The restaurant shut at 6 which wasn’t handy as we had to get taxis out every evening costing us 1000 baht a night to find restaurants. The shower water heater started smoking at us whilst we were showering so we had to turn it off and have cold showers every day which because of the weather wasn’t to bad but a bit scary none the less. Also no AC which was a struggle to sleep but do provide fans which helped.

bathroom had a drainage problem.

There was no food available after 18pm. And they don't allow to bring your own food. The staff are a bit rude, when I left I asked they if the can drive me to the top, as they were driving there. Their answer: no sorry . If you don't have a bike, forgot to come. Beach is tiny and they charge you 100bahts for seating. Avoid this place

The view is wonderful
Very calm, not touristy place
Clean and comfy
I think for families w kids is perfect, for the ones looking for 100% relaxation away from everything
There are only two restaurant options
You need a car to explore restaurants/ bars
The food is a bit more expensive than in other places
The sea is a bit too strong on this side of the island
Take a taxi's phone number so it's easier to get in and out whenever you want

It was in a great location with the beach right next to you and the sea had lots of beautiful coral and fish and the food was very delicious and the shakes were superb.
The only thing I didn’t like about this amazing place was that were was no air conditioner so it got very hot but there were still 2 fans.

very nicely set bungalows surrounded by flowers and trees. huge terrace and beautiful view from the rooms.
great beach facilities (sunbeds, shade, hammocks) there´s nothing around, you need a motobike
the beach could be cleaner. everyone coming to Thailand should try to use as little plastic as possible and set a good example. get a reusable cup for your shakes and coffees!

Our Bungalow had a stunning direct sea view. The restaurant had good thai food. People are friendly. Room had refrigerator and water cooker. Owners struggle to keep beach clean
The restaurant was closed from 5 p.m. It is difficult to get to this resort, the streets are in bad shape., what makes it dangerous to go there by scooter. You need to walk many steep steps, so nothing for weak or handicaped persons. You need expensive taxis to get anywhere. Sea was rough

Good Location, beautiful views, tasty food and breakfast .
Also very polite host!
Good for snorkelling. Very small sharks are swimming also in the bay :)
Quite hot without climate.
Beach is full of trash coming from the sea. They try to clean every day.
This situation quite depends on the ocean currents. Better ask the very polite host before you book the stay.

stunning view in a beautiful bay of the island
everything was very old and dirty. When we enter the room the bin was full of toilet paper from other guests. Under the bed it was very dirty and the bathroom was very old and not dlean at all. Ok it was not expensive but cleaning cost nothing. Also no AC available which we knew but it was very warm and only two old dirty fans.

Beautiful villa on a beautiful beach
The road to get to the property was not maintained at all. It is already steep and certain areas have deep trenches and pot holes which isn’t ideal in a scooter! We managed but it was quite an ordeal coming and going! we have been travelling around Thailand for 5 weeks from the north to the south and this was by far the worst! The restaurant food was a bit disappointing.

The remoteness and peace. Tasty breakfast with good coffee. Gorgeous bay for swimming and snorkelling. The views from the room (more a bungalow really) and balcony is astounding. There is no need for air con - two fans and you can sleep with the sliding doors open (impossible for intruders to enter), and there are mosquito nets. Interesting furniture; a nice four poster bed with good linen. Spacious and clean bathroom with a beautiful view from the very private toilet. large fridge. Pom (owner or manager, not sure) is very responsive with communication beforehand.
1. No way to have tea or coffee in the afternoons (breakfast stops at 10:30)S Best would be a kettle in the room, but a general kettle of access to hot water in the breakfast/chill area right above the beach would be great too. (The closest tea or coffee spot is quite far away on a tricky road.)
2. The hotel cannot control this, but it might help to be aware beforehand of the high level of plastic pollution in the area, mainly blown in from the ocean. it might also come from the next-door abandoned properties.

Gorgeous view of the bay; fabulous swimming and coral. The couple who run it are wonderful and he makes the best omelette I’ve ever had. Rooms have great balconies, very spacious, comfortable bed, clean, good Wi-Fi.

Amazing location and views. Clean
and spacious with a large veranda.
Fan only due to limited electricity in
the area which may put some people
off, but there were 3 fans and with
the doors and windows open and
mosquito net down we found it okay.
Fan only.

It was a great place with an amazing sea view, beach and great staff.
The road to the place is not the best.
Bring a lot of food if you are going to stay at this place the whole day, since shops and restaurants are on the main road.

Best beach with snorkling in Kho Tao. Amazing view from the room.
10.0 / 10.0
Amazing place in one of the nicest locations of the island. The bay is perfect for snorkeling and the view from the Bungalow is simply breathtaking. Very friendly owners and lots of friendly pets (including the parrot Echo :)).
As Aow Leok is in a very secluded area, it's hard to reach. I would recommend to rent a scooter to be morr flexible (and get ready for an adventurous ride over a narrow dirt road to get to the place)

gorgeous view
- nice room
- quiet bay
- great snorkeling
- friendly, accomodating staff
- kayak and snorkeling gear available
as it is a remote location, food prices were a bit higher than elsewhere

Honestly, one of my favourite stays in Thailand. Beautiful location, attentive staff and clean rooms! I loved leaving the doors wide open at night - breeze was beautiful and the sound of the waves was dreamy. On the plus side, this is family run and they were all wonderful, as their dogs! Absolutely incredible for price. Thank you for a great stay.
Just be weary if you're travelling with a scooter. I would suggest to not follow the signs and go straight down to park, and walk across the beach (5 mins at best). The road leading to the accomodation is more like a dirt track and quite difficult to drive through, especially in the dark!

The location Is top notch: a bit isolated from the craziness of the pier, on the other side of the island. The bungalows are great, big and spacious, there is no air conditioning but personally I like it. You sleep directly in front of the seafront . The restaurant is good, with good drinks and not too expensive, considering its the only one in the bay.
Staff is helpful: we had a problem with some tiles in the bathroom that fell off during the night destroying a part of the WC. After breakfast situation was already solved, tiles changed and new WC. Great work
