Borgo Ponte dell'Asse

For us the location 10 minutes from Florence was ideal. The owners explained 3 busses were available from the local supermarket area 3 minute drive or probably a 15 minute walk. Due to the age of one of our guests we chose to drive the 6km (12min) to Florence which is expensive but we knew that. The bedrooms rooms are very big and there are 2 bathrooms that always had hot water. we were in 4 but I am sure 6 would also be comfortable depending on how many cars you have. In the kitchen there seemed to be everything but to be honest we only used the fridge for keeping drinks cold as we always ate out. The owners are also very friendly. Location is close to a big supermarket (Esselunga) which would be useful if your plan is self catering. it also permits access to many restaurants within 10 minutes (our top recommendation Osteria Da Mordicchio in Scandicci)

The biggie is the parking, the only position available includes a race up a broken road and a roll back into the parking space, it includes wheel spins and potential damage to your tyres/car. My wife refused to do it. The solution is for the owners to park their car in the difficult space and leave their space to the visitors or open up their ample garden to a car A second improvement could also be the inclusion of a TV as there is nowhere to go to in the evening and it would fill some time for adults and kids alike There is a floor standing airco unit in the main bedroom but it is very noisy at night so in most cases it had to be turned off and a fan in the 2nd bedroom. It seems the owners went into the apartment every day and even set off the dishwasher, with only 2 cups inside, for us it wasn't a problem but maybe that level of intervention may be a bit much There is now a 3euro per person per day tourist tax (also for children), which is not the accommodation responsibility but could add up for longer stays. For the price and given the location, less risky parking, airco and a TV would be appreciated

The property is very spacious, surrounded by greenery, and a short distance from the center of Florence.
