We were absolutely stunned by the history and beauty of Borgo Ponte all’Asse. The character of the property is truly remarkable — from the centuries-old architecture to the incredible original artwork that adds so much depth and atmosphere. Despite the warm weather, the thick historic walls kept the interior pleasantly cool, so we didn’t even need air conditioning. What truly made our stay unforgettable was Paola’s warm hospitality. She made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived — her kindness and attention to detail were unmatched. Everything was impeccably clean and thoughtfully prepared, which only added to the comfort and authenticity of the experience. It was a perfect blend of history, beauty, and heartfelt welcome.

A true Tuscan experience

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Paola's house in Florence for five days, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, Paola made us feel like part of her family. Her knowledge of Tuscany is unmatched, and she shared so many wonderful tips on where to go, what to see, and local hidden gems. The house itself is a beautiful, authentic Tuscan home, surrounded by a stunning garden that made our stay even more special. It was the perfect setting for our family, including our two kids (ages 3 and 8), who loved exploring the area. Paola went above and beyond to make our stay even more memorable. She gifted us delicious Tuscan pastries and thoughtful souvenirs, which was such a kind touch. She also recommended fantastic restaurants and the best places to enjoy gelato, ensuring we got the full experience of Tuscany’s culinary delights. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay or a more welcoming host. If you're looking for a true Tuscan experience, Paola's home is the perfect place to stay! I think staying with the locals is the best!!!!!

Excellent calm and beautiful place and garden.

Paola is an experienced host and she provided us with all necessary information already at arrival about the apartment and the surroundings in Florence. She speaks excellent English. We were offered every morning a choice to select our breakfast and it was delicious. The apartment is very clean and the 2 beds were conformable. The walls were hand painted and it's areal piece of art. The garden is splendid and has so much comfort and beautiful arrangements. It felt we were in one of the most beautiful regions of Italy. We could use the garden, the vast dining area inside the house and the kitchen. The latter is very well equipped. Paola showed us a nearby bio garden where we could pick and buy delicious vegetables. We enjoyed so much our stay at B&B Borgo Ponte dell'Asse and we are looking forward to go back again and have our interesting conversations with Paola and Alessandro.

Everything, this accommodation is by my taste, not too close to the city rush, but near enough if you have rentacar. Owners are wonderful people, I felt like I visited my relatives, just a much more intelligent one 😂

Paola made me feel like a princess in this very atmospheric authentic borgo.

Paola is the most wonderful host. She was very helpful with everything, from giving information about intestering sightseeings in and around Firenze to giving many lifts by car. It was also a great pleasure talking with her about the history of the house and her grandfather, who was an important sculptor. There was a wonderful historic Pleyel grand piano in my room, which had even been tuned recently. I also loved the beautiful young maine coon cat, which was outside in the inner court playing an enjoying attention from time to time. All of this made me feel home very much and I wish I could have stayed longer.

The most amazing Tuscany stay with history away from the busy city centre.

Beautiful garden / patio full of terracotta pots overflowing with herbs and flowers where you can sit under old wisteria in a nice shade and relax. Rooms with authentic wooden ceilings and antique furniture. Perfectly clean, comfortable and calm home for a few days. Also the owner Paola and her husband are incredibly nice and will help you with anything you could possibly need. Oh and did I mention the amazing fresh pastry for breakfast Paola gets you every morning? I can’t wait to visit again!

Great host and location

Highly recommended.. We enjoyed the stay on a comfi family room of four. Paola was extremely helpful and kind. We were given loads of useful tips on where and how to go. The house was an old Italian architecture but supper clean. Will definitely go back!!!

One of the best hosts I have met in my life. Even is not close the public transportation, but they offered us a ride to bus station everyday. The room is spacious. And the pastry for breakfast is the best!!!

Lovely stay and charming house

We had a lovely stay. Paola provided us breakfast every morning and transport to and from a bus stop to the city (which is just 10min outside of Florence's city center). She was very attentive to our needs and the place was lovely. Comfortable, cosy, with a charming backyard full of flowers.

Rooms could be a bit more soundproof and sometimes it was unclear the times they could pick us up at the bus stop. They always did, but we didn't want to bother, so maybe it would be nice to clarify specific times beforehand.

Paola and Alessandro were so friendly and gave us many drives between the bnb and centrum. They gave us very good recommendations to visit in Tuscany area by car. Beautiful old house to stay and breakfast in the garden was nice.

Exceptional

We had the most wonderful time staying at the magical B&B Borgo Ponte dell’Asse! Our hosts provided fresh fruit, yoghurt and absolutely scrumptious baked goods every morning for breakfast which we enjoyed in the courtyard garden. The B&B is close to the city (about a 5 minute drive) while retaining a countryside charm and serenity, this coupled with a comfortable bed and a beautifully muraled bedroom made sleep easy at the end of each day of sightseeing. As we were without our own transport, the owners even very kindly drove us to the city gate (Porta Romana) daily. They also provided us with excellent tips on which sights to see during our stay, from personal recommendations to lending us copies of old beautifully bound books full of tips for saunterings and gallery visits. Our time at B&B Borgo Ponte dell’Asse was a delight, from the romantic setting to the deep warmth of our hosts. We were sad to go but we will return! We would highly recommend staying here to anyone who is planning a trip to Florence. Slan go foill P agus A <3

Fantastic B&B

We stayed for a week and we very much liked the site and the location of the B&B and can highly recommend it. The hosts are super friendly and supportive by introducing the area, giving tips for the city centre, sharing insight in culture, restaurants, giving practical tips, and provided a lovely breakfast (home grown fruit, yoghurt, bread, ham, sweets and others on request). We used the site for visiting Florence by car, started cycling rides, and went for trips to other tuscan areas. The rooms are spacious, very clean, with very tasty interiour, comfortabel beds, and the backyard is a special island to stay in terracotta and green. We'll come again!

NOT FLORENCE! NO AC. MOSQUITOES

In a cool moth the patio would be nice.

This should NOT be listed as a Florence location. It is a 20 min drive from Florence or 20 Euro taxi. There is NO air conditioning as listed and tons of mosquitos. The room only had a screen on 1 of the two windows. We left after 1 night and wasted a day of our trip because we couldn't sleep in the heat and were up until sunlight. The beds and pillows are very hard. "Breakfast" was hard unripe fruit, yogurt, bread and 1 pat of butter with 1 small square of jam. No cream for coffee.

Superb

An accommodation in a beautiful Tuscan house as you imagine it. The rooms are large and have private bathrooms. They are very tastefully furnished with antique furniture and everything is clean and well maintained. The house itself is set back from the road surrounded by greenery, it is pleasantly quiet and ideal for relaxing. Nevertheless, it is only about 10-15 minutes by bus to the city center (Porta Romana). It is easily accessible by public transport. Paola and her husband are very nice and extremely helpful hosts who picked us up from the tram or drove us to the nearest supermarket. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back! Everything was perfect! The property is only 10 minutes from the center. Alex and Paola are very friendly, they gave me a map and suggested the best places to visit. Each morning they brought me fresh croissants and Alex drove me to the center each day by his car. Thank you for your hospitality!

If you want a truly authentic experience for your stay in Florence, you must book in at Borgo Ponte dell'Asse. This B&B is set just 10 minutes (by car) outside the city centre, and has a very 'countryside' feel to it. Our room was gorgeous! Very clean, quiet, and quite large. We had a private bathroom and a shared kitchen/dining area. Each morning we had our breakfast in the beautiful garden/courtyard, which is perfectly situated to get equal parts sun and shade. Our hosts, Alessandro and Poala, were genuinely warm and welcoming, and instantly made us feel right at home. They provided us with loads of information about Florence and what to see. Huge thanks to them for making our stay that much more special. We will definitely be back!

Memorable stay!

This was a memorable stay and I’m so happy I booked this property even though it’s a bit outside of the city center. The room (I had the one with the piano!) and the house are beautiful. Paola and Ale are great hosts - welcoming, kind, intelligent, with an in-depth knowledge of the area. It was great to receive recommendations from them on places to visit off the beaten track. One day Paola even accompanied me to the Certosa monastery on a hill nearby (the tour was in Italian but she kindly translated for me). Due to the pandemic they do not serve proper breakfasts, but the host brought me fresh pastries and milk every morning, and he also brought me some fruit upon arrival. Every day the host drove me to the bus station to go to the city center, and back. There’s also a taxi if need be - from Porta Romana to the property it cost me just 8 euros. At the end of my stay, I received a nice souvenir from Paola and Ale as a farewell gift ❤️

a wonderful memorable experience, we loved Paola and Alessandro, they are lovely people, so nice, helping you with a lot of information, local tips and trips, restaurants suggestions, stories and insights about Florenza and Toscana, Chianti. the breakfast was delicious, we were spoiled, we could choose from a selection of the best pastry shop in Florenz, the kids were really happy. what we valued most were the conversations with Paola and Alessandro, (he is the most energetic happy person ever :D), they did everything for us so we have a very good time and we are greatful for that the location is beautiful, a few kilometers by car away from Florenz city center, we also visitied several lovely villages next to Florenz, easily accessible from there: Lamola, San Gimignano, Volterra, Volpaia, Certaldo, Greve and more. Thank you again Paola and Alessandro for everthing, greetings from Vienna!

Paola was most friendly, her advice and tips for visiting Florence and Tuscany were very usefull. Breakfast on her terrace was a delight (she makes the best cappuccino) and the quietness and the squerels in the neighbours trees were a nice change from busy Florence.

Sehr liebenswerte Gastgeberin, die uns über die Aktivitäten in Florenz ausführlich und kompetent beraten hat. Auch hat Sie uns mit Ihrem Auto in die nahe gelegene Altstadt von Florenz gefahren. Nur wenige Gehminuten (ca 200 m) von der Unterkunft entfernt befindet sich ein sehr gutes Restaurant.

Es ist ein besonderer Ort.

Wer Florenz besucht, sollte bei Paola wohnen: wunderschöner Ort mit Innenhof, stilvolle saubere Zimmer, stadtnah - perfekt zum Entspannen nach einem Tag in der Stadt. Das Frühstück war sehr fein. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und Paola war sehr hilfsbereit.
