We stayed in Esentai Hostel many times. It is definitely our comfort place in Almaty. Rooms are spacious and everything is super clean. Location is good (Almaty is very big so you can take public transport to get anywhere). The hosts are very nice:)

Great big room with kettle, fridge and sitting area. Well equipped kitchen in the hostel and use of a washing machine. Not too much waiting for access to the shared bathroom. Located in an excellent suburb and walkable to Metro. Great spot for a longer stay
The allocated smoking area fed smoky air straight into our room and bathroom area which is not pleasant

Lovely spacious , quiet, clean and comfortable room. A KS bed, sofa, wardrobe, refrigerator and kettle made this a home away from home. Located across from the canal and close to eateries, convenience stores, bus and train stations and an easy walk into the centre.
Perhaps the only thing I was not compeltleynhappynwithbwas the light curtains as day broke about 5am.. however I had an eye mask. Still worth a 10/10!
