Le Colombier

This was the most wonderful find as a stay over on our way down to northern Provence. The house itself is lovely, set in a beautiful old village with a stunning church, just 10 mins from Beaune. The room had a lovely comfortable bed with a great view and great shower. Olivier was the best host and as a professional chef , created the most amazing meal for the guests in a lovely outside setting. It really was outstanding. We could not recommend this place more highly!

Casa muy tranquila y anfitrión muy atento. El desayuno estaba muy rico. Cenamos una noche y el menú era bueno y abundante. Tienen servicio de bebidas con una buena selección.

Por decir algo, las almohadas podrían ser más cómodas.

The dinner was really good and value for money. There was a veggie option, which is not always a given in France.

The room was very bare: no bedside table, no TV, no view, no glasses in the bathroom. The bathroom wall doesn't go all the way up to the ceiling so we can hear and smell everything coming from the bathroom/toilet. Credit card payments are not accepted - only cash or bank transfer (which incurs costs in France). I did a transfer in front of the host and he asked to see my account to prove that I had made it, I thought that was rude. The host did make comments about us checking in 30min early and being 15min late for dinner. We understand that a business managed by one person can be tricky but, equally, when you're travelling and on holiday, you can't plan so meticulously. I thought the room rate was very high for what we got.
