Just about everything was great. We have stayed at multiple Plataran properties and they are consistently very good in all areas - the staff, facilities, restaurants, and available amenities and activities are all excellent.

Our only small complaint about this stay was that the pool at our villa was not cleaned when we arrived. I think we would have used the pool if it was free of leaves and debris but we decided not to use it. I think this would be a nice improvement and not to much to ask for given that we were here during the low season.

We had a beautiful stay at Plataran Menjangan!

Our stay at Plataran Menjangan was unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt so warmly welcomed and cared for. The setting is magical, tucked in nature with deer grazing nearby. Our villa was spacious, private, and beautifully maintained, with lovely touches that made it feel luxurious yet relaxed. The staff went above and beyond in every interaction, and the food was incredible. We left feeling completely relaxed and recharged. Thank you, Plataran team, for such a special experience!

A wonderful place in beautiful nature. Wildlife all around. Villa’s were great, clean and nicely decorated. Service was beyond good; everyone was so helpful and friendly. Infinity pool is great. Food and drinks were delicious. A quiet calming and peaceful place; feels like heaven on earth.

Far from the Bali holiday crowd!

If you are tired of crowded over-touristy Bali, this is the place to go. Located in a national park, the resort is quiet, remote, and very nature conscious. Deer and monkeys regularly roam the premises and can be seen right outside the villas. The Balinese food is excellent and there are plenty of nature based activities: snorkelling, hiking, biking, diving, etc.

Its a 4-5 hour drive from the airport along roads than can be quite narrow and many reckless drivers.

Magical immersion in nature, but with all the comforts you could want.

The site is amazing, with individual villas in their own gardens with a veranda. Ours had a plunge pool overlooking the sea where we could watch the deer and monkeys roam. The room was very well appointed with good wifi, the tv worked well, there was plenty of storage. As well there was a water machine in the room, reducing plastic use in line with the ethos of the accommodation. There was a very good coffee maker as well. We had a welcome fruit bowl and lovely room decorations for our anniversary. Each night the villa is sprayed for mosquitos, and we enjoyed very comfortable nights inside our mosquito netting.

Not so much the fault of the accommodation, but the outdoor bathroom is covered but has openings on the sides. It was rainy season and one night it rained so hard everything got soaked - toilet paper, toiletry bags, towels. We had to wade through an inch of water to go to the toilet. It may have been a quirk out our villa (101) as I didn't see the same openings on other villa's bathrooms. The bed was massive and comfortable, but had extra wood to the sides, so in order to get out you needed to scoot a further foot. That might be an issue for anyone with mobility problems

Their 3 hour estimate to the resort from the airport was conservative. The actual time was 6+ hours too and 5.5 hours on the return It was expensive for the activities, but the personal touch and hospitality could justify the cost if it was for a special occasion

A fabulous stay to recharge your tired soul.

Everything is top-notch. Breakfast is made to order; good variety, good taste, and portion. I love having the deer sleeping beside our villa. We also enjoyed the different free activities that they provided. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

It took us almost 6 hours from the airport. Next time, I would book a night somewhere closer so that we can start the trip in the morning and get there before dark.

Exceptional

A magical place in West Bali national park. Beautiful villas - spacious, comfortable and very well appointed. Staff are superb- made us feel cared for and special in every little thing. Location is amazing, there is a relaxed and serene atmosphere around the place, animals are roaming freely around, and you can watch wild deer and monkeys while sitting by a beautiful infinity pool. We loved this resort and hope to be back.

Pleasant

The bed and the quietness.

The lack of knowledge given its a top eco resort and a nature sanctuary on nature and how to protect it. The rubbish in the water that surrounds the resort and turtle sanctuary, the cats that are kept around the bird sanctuary. The fact I was told that there was no jellyfish but upon walking out onto a jetty amongst mangroves was a box jellyfish. Luckily coming from Australia, I am familiar with such jellyfish in such waters. I don't know whether to criticise Indonesia for trying, but I think you can't call yourself an eco resort and 'world' top safari resort without addressing some of the above issues. I do love that there is some effort to bring back nature and nature but I feel the above negates the purpose.

The breakfast was ample- fruit, pastries, juice, variety of eggs & pancakes & eat as much as you want. Excellent quality. Location in oceanview mangrove villa had our own private beach, very quiet & secluded, close to pool and octagon restaurant. It was truly luxurious. Service was amazing from all staff

We did feather encounter at 6am & were given breakfast boxes to take with us but didn’t get to have until 10.30am. Part of the tour included a picnic lunch after we returned to the resort. The feather encounter was fantastic, guide extremely knowledgeable. Breakfast & lunch just too close together. Probably should make picnic lunch a separate option as it was very good but we were a bit full to really appreciate fully

hotel is located inside the national Park. our room is surrounding by the mangroves, and the water is very clear. and every late afternoon you can see the wild deer walk by our room, what a beautiful place!!! and the staff is very friendly. and thanks for our anniversary cake 😊😊

as a five star hotel, there is a few things I think hotel need to improve. first is from outside the drive way into hotel. the road is very bad condition, our car can only drive very slow to get in the hotel. including the walking path inside the hotel, is bad as well. the road haven’t being fixed for long time. you need to walk carefully with the rocky road. and our bed is making funny noises once you turning your body when you sleep. not sure because the bed frame is getting old and lose something.. the staff was try to fix the bed problem for us. I think keep hotel in the good shape is very important for the long term business.

wonderful peaceful stay in paradise

Everything, Location was amazing with monkeys and deer walking around the site, the staff couldn’t do enough to help, we had an mangrove Ocean view and the view was exceptional out to see. Both of the rooms had smart TVs and excellent tea and coffee making facilities

The bicycles that you could use on the property need better maintenance. We also asked for a car to take us back down to Jim Brennan beach and the car that turned up was very old. Beyond that everything else was top-notch

Beyond anything we could have dreamed of. A TRULY special place.

The staff were INCREDIBLE. Not only is every single person amazing at their jobs, attentive and professional, they are all also warm genuine caring people. Every day they would come to say hi to us at breakfast and ask about our evening and what we had planned. Special mention to Ariani, Kamar, Dharma, Ade, Nyoman & the pastry chef who we talked to every day and who we felt incredibly close to like a family! The attention to detail blew us away. Just a few things were: - setting up afternoon tea in a tree house instead of the restaurant with shade when I got to sun burnt. - remembering that my fiancé doesn’t like bugs and setting up extra bug repelling candles - pricing extra chill in meals when we mentioned my fiancé loves spicy - putting my favourite flowers as garnishes in drinks when I mentioned it the previous day - moving breakfast to the viewing deck instead of the restaurant so we could use the telescope whilst we ate - high quality bug repellant cream in the room that was organic - putting more scent in the diffuser in our villa because my fiancé loved the smell - Powerful hairdryer!!! ( ladies!) - cookies for turn down. we can go on and on!

A Peaceful and Relaxing Stay in a Wonderful Resort

We had a wonderful, extended stay at The Plataran Menjangan Resort and Spa that exceeded our high expectations. Away from the crowds, it provided an ocean-front sanctuary in the forest of the national park that was restful and calm. The resort provided a car from the airport as well as a shuttle that enabled visits to local sights which were very welcome. Service was outstanding and all the staff delivered it in a personalised and charming manner. Nothing was too difficult for them. The food was excellent with Chef Arie also creating special dishes to accommodate dietary restrictions. Breakfast and afternoon tea were especial highlights. The accommodation was beautiful and kept immaculately clean as were the beaches. We were able to experience and learn a lot about traditional Balinese culture including some great music, singing and dancing. The trip to and picnic lunch on Menjangan Island was excellent with great snorkelling. From the senior management down, the staff could not do enough for us and made our stay a memorable one. Other highlights included the extended family of deer that would graze in front of the villas, the bird life and cheeky monkeys. We appreciated the resort's genuine ecological commitments with its endemic tree-planting programme and breeding of the endangered Balinese starling for release in the national park. We would definitely come back again and recommend it to couples and families seeking a retreat in a beautiful area.

Unique resort inside Bali Barat National Park

We visit Bali Barat National Park on our last leg of our road tour in Bali. This resort is less than 20 km from Gilimanuk ferry port so this can be your first or last place to visit when you do roadtrip from java to Bali... This was our second stay on Plataran resorts after Bajo. We are just want to give confirmation of what others wrote on the review this unique and extraordinary Plataran Resort... a unique experience on the wilderness of national park... also don’t forget to visit and do snorkling at Menjangan island! If you want to stay away from the crowd during this pandemic so this resort might be best for you... don’t worry, this resort complies with health protocol...

Bello, ma alcune cose da sapere in anticipo

Bella struttura, belle ville, personale molto molto amichevole e solerte. Bello il reef di fronte al Jetty, per fare snorkeling, così come il parco nazionale, con cervi e scimmie che allietano la giornata. Non abbiamo potuto approfittare delle attività offerte visto il tempo tendente al brutto e con frequenti scrosci di pioggia. Molto carino il souvenir omaggio. Bello il bagno a cielo aperto, così come la camera, con un bel letto e una scrivania molto funzionale. Ristorante con buon menu e ottima colazione. Nota di merito per il personale, davvero carino e premuroso.

Un po' di mixed feelings, influenzati dal tempo piovigginoso e da una struttura con regole talvolte cervellotiche. Nell'intera area non si può fumare, tranne alla reception e al ristorante, il che obbliga ogni volta a percorrere 200 metri a piedi, cosa che onestamente - se si è in vacanza e si ha un enorme villa a disposizione - è assai fastidioso. La palestra a cielo aperto diventa non praticabile in caso di pioggia. Le bici a disposizione sono ormai vecchie e scassate. Bello essere all'interno del parco nazionale, ma ci vogliono 10 minuti d'auto (su una strada accidentata), e talvolta si ha l'impressione di essere rinchiusi, soprattutto perché il primo villaggio è a 20 minuti d'auto e, se si vuole comprare qualcosa, l'operazione diventa un po' complicata. La SPA ha dei prezzi molto elevati rispetto a quanto offerto a Bali, a cui si aggiungono le solite tasse e il servizio. Idem per il ristorante, che però offre dei buoni piatti.
