Stay Nikko Guesthouse

Kenji brings back that old charm why it is so good to travel and stay at guesthouses. There is no faceless check-in, no key box, no nonsense industrial travelism. He is there; he is kind; he is very attentive; he draws the map for you with his tips on what is worth seeing; he even gave us a ride to the train station at checkout. The definition of a great host. Adding to that, our stay had two bedrooms and a living room, clean, spacious rooms, in old Japanese style, with everything you need. We would stay nowhere else in Nikko.

Cozy and comfortable guesthouse, carefully decorated! We had our own cottage with two beds on the mezzanine and three in the living room. The owner was very friendly and welcoming! The location is perfect to discover the world heritage site and lac Chuzenjie as well as to dine, shop or have a coffee break on Nikko Main Street, which is only a short 5-10’ walk from the guesthouse.

Cosy and homey vibe, with a lovely outlook onto the river. The hosts were wonderful, attentive and quick to respond to any queries. The villa was scrupulously clean, and it was close to everything - transport hubs, main attraction and shops.

Kenji was an excellent host who had good knowledge of Nikko and how to get around. After staying in Tokyo hotels this place had lots of space and would be good for families of 4. Near the train station and bus stop.
