Fern Villa B&B

A traditional bed and breakfast with lovely hosts. Short walk to the local pub and a couple of eateries. Quiet with onstreet parking outside.

It was very hot ( warmest May on record) and our room with view got hot.

The property was everything we’d hoped for.

The location is wonderful and we were blessed with wonderful weather

Mike and Sue were extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and breakfast.

Sue and Mike were very welcoming and friendly, they were there to welcome us into the B&B and show us to our room, along with providing us with lots of ideas on where to go and where to eat etc. The B&B itself was a lovely building, pretty garden and ample parking right outside. It was clean and comfortable, most of what you'd expect from a B&B was there. Dining area was nice with a lovely view, as was the view from the bedroom.

I felt the beds being made by hosts each day unnecessary, especially for short stay guests (more work for hosts/guests can arrange bedding to their preference). There were no little touches such as mini shower gel/shampoos for 2 people or biscuits with the tea/coffee provided (personal preference, but expected as it's the norm for majority of B&Bs). Breakfast was a little disappointing, especially for the price of the stay. Perhaps a complimentary continental option would be a nice touch as well as more flexibility on the time breakfast is served. Portion sizes and quality of the breakfast did not meet expectations, again especially given the cost of the stay.
