Great stay with such a beautiful and kind family - We really had a unique and great experience, and felt really welcome and special. The place is amazing with all commodities, and food was also amazing. Highly recommend !

Pros: The people were friendly and welcoming. Our boat driver showed us around the reed islands, which was an interesting experience. The rooms had heaters, so the extreme temperature difference between day and night wasn’t an issue. The host also provided hot water bottles to ensure a comfortable sleep.

Cons: • Communication was frustratingly slow. Despite confirming our meeting point two days in advance, we could only reach the host the day before arrival to finalise details. Even then, pick-up wasn’t punctual—not a huge problem since we arrived early, but still not ideal. • Upon boarding, there was an unexplained 8-sol fee per person given to a staff member on shore. Our booking had already mentioned a 10-sol return boat taxi fee, making this extra charge unclear. • After arriving at 10:20 AM, we were told that activities like exploring the community would begin at 11:00 AM. In reality, we waited until 11:30 AM. Similarly, after lunch, we requested to try on traditional costumes and take a balsa boat ride. We were told 3:00 PM, but when we got ready— and it was a fine sunny time in the afternoon—we were told to wait “one moment”—which turned into a 4:00 PM departure— when there was barely any sunlight—and even then, it didn’t happen until one of us went to find the host. He seemed more focused on construction work than attending to guests. • Check-out was equally inefficient. With a 10:00 AM check-out time, we expected the host to be ready with the bills and the boat. Instead, we couldn’t even find him. His wife eventually settled the bill with us, but by the time we left for the port, it was already 10:40 AM—cutting it close for our flight.
