La Capitana Old San Juan Building

The hotel was in an outstanding location. Very convenient to walk everywhere. Our room was on the second floor and we had to walk up two flights of steps. So if there is any issues with climbing stairs, we wouldn’t recommend this location as there is no elevator. Our flight arrived late at night and we had to check in at another hotel that was 2 1/2 blocks away from our building. The gentleman at the front desk was kind enough to walk us down which made us feel very comfortable. This room it is a very basic accommodations but once again, location, location, location!

Great location! Old apartment with bg space and balcony overlookig street. Cons would be very narrow stairs so hard with big luggage. Checkin is at another location down the street.

dark dark room beach facing windows were nailed shut. i’ve never been to jail but it’s what i can imagine solitary confinement like. room was spacious check in lady was sweet but check out lady was EXTREMELY rude. i live in PR and wanted a nice break in Old San Juan but my next weekend trip there will not be with this hotel AT ALL.

We were in Old San Juan for a wedding and the party stayed here. Great location and comfortable beds. A/C worked great in the bedroom of the Breathtaking apartment on the top floor. To start the review, the address of the apartment was also not where check in was. The information was not in any of the confirmation emails but was in the website chat area (which didn't see til wandering around Old San Juan). To get into the apartment gate it was a hard lock with key. You also needed to unlock with key to get out of the foyer as well. Tiny stairwells for a single person. The door to the apartment had space between the door jam and the door. No dead bolts. The door to balcony had no lock and did not line up. It was secured with a 2x4 that went across it. The second bed area next to the balcony was so hot we took the mattress off the Murphy bed and moved it into the bedroom. TV was super small and in the bedroom. There was no hot water in the shower. There were no fire alarms. The apartment appeared old but clean until we moved the night table to put the second beds mattress on the floor to sleep in the a/c and some fake nails that were randomly on the floor stuck to the bottom of my bare feet grossing me out. All in all, we travel to the island often have become accustomed to the nuances you wouldn't normally find in the States. Again, great location, comfy beds, great a/c and great price.
