Great location and comfortable

We received clear instructions for access to the apartment, these were very easy to follow and we had all the facilities we needed to make our stay comfortable. The apartment is a short walk to the metro station, this was very helpful as taxi/uber etc are very unreliable. The location was also very convenient for visiting the main sites and shopping.

Disappointing experience - not worth the value

- the photos on Booking.com do not show the spartment we rented - one window can not close fully - the heating mechanism on the radiators did not work (6C outside) - No possibility to store luggage although it was indicated in the mail we received. The place that was indicated in the mail where we could store the luggage was fully booked.

Location OK. Shops and bars not far. Within walking distance of metro and bus stop. On first appearances the apartment looked good. Bright & tidy with tv, double bed, shower, fridge, toaster, kettle, wi fi, dishwasher, washer/dryer, selection of duvets, towels, somewhere to sit when eating and a sofa. (All as listed in booking details) But………….read on

The information booklet said there were instructions for the tv, wi-fi, washer/dryer, microwave and dishwasher. There weren’t any, or they were not right. Had to message the phone number in booklet to ask for wi fi set up. (Tried calling but no answer) The response message in French said to use the wi fi set up from the next door apartment! - They weren’t in.(Tried both) No instructions for washer/dryer. TV instructions didn’t work. If you used the overhead shower instead of the hand held shower, the shallow tray starts to overflow under the shower door, down the steps onto bathroom floor as the flow of water is too much for the drain. - which is why we wanted to use the washer dryer to wash & dry the towels used to mop up. Bed had uncomfortable lumps in the middle. Some of the information leaflets about the area were several years out of date. Didn’t know what to do with the rubbish and bottles as there were no instructions regarding disposal and my message asking about this was again unanswered. - It did say to contact the number if you needed anything. Only one wine glass. The wine capital of the world had only one wine glass? After many attempts I solved the wi if set up and left the correct instructions in the booklet and on the table for the next guests. Unfortunately couldn’t get the tv to work. Dishwasher didn’t have instructions but only two settings which was ok. Managed the microwave for heating food so watched this instead of tv. Used cups for wine. If the contact person had been available or replied, the information in the booklet was ALL correct and the shower didn’t overflow, this would be a good apartment to stay in (except the lumpy bed) There are a lot of steps up to the apartment but this was known when booked. (But not that there are 87 steps.) Cleaning charge is expensive at €60.

Location was not close to most places.

We booked a 1 bed room loft stay. A family of 4. Some what cozy… had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Including washing machine (that on rapid wash was still 1-2hr wash) the spin mode was noisy and had to pause it during the evening in case it woke up or stirred the neighbours.

There were a few issues… The host was not responsive. The sofa bed was rock hard with no bedding linen provided and no pillows. We paid for 4 people (2 adults 2 children) Kids stayed on the sofa bed and complained how hard and uncomfortable the ‘sofa bed’ was.

Overall, everything was good!

Great location, the house was decent.

We were a group of 4, but only 3 towels were provided. There was no shampoo, soap, or shower gel, and only 3 coffee capsules, even though the booking was clearly for 4 people. These are small but important details to consider. The host replied only on the third day, so I didn’t see the point in reaching out again. Still, these were small details — not a big deal for us. For example, we used the hairdryer instead of an iron 😄 So if you don’t mind little things like that, you’ll enjoy your stay!

overall we had a nice stay despite the spiders and the dust

The location was perfect and the room was well renovated.

At first glance, the apartment seemed clean, however, we quickly noticed spots that had not been cleaned, such as spiders in various corners and on the ceiling and dust above our bed

Location despite the busy road.

The apartment lacked basic items like enough pillows, dishwasher powder, towel rails. It was not very clean- dirty cutlery & crockery, used dishwashing sponge, blood stained pillow, very dusty which caused us all to get hay fever. When we arrived the sofa bed appeared to be broken & was left in a weird position - neither a sofa or a bed. The bathroom smelt like sewerage, the shower drain backed up, & the water pump was very noisy like a hammer drill, & went off every 7 seconds when the shower or a tap were being used. We messaged the host about the missing items & were informed they would be delivered but this did not happen.

Quirky apartment in a great position to explore the older parts of Lyon but need to arrange parking.

Quirky apartment in an old building and the high ceilings offset slightly cramped living space (there were 6 of us). Well located near the opera house, hotel de ville and museum and with a number of very highly rated restaurants on doorstep (inc Michelin stars). Great transport links to rest of city through metro. Good value too.

Slightly cramped in kitchen area as there were 6 of us and we needed all the other space for beds inc. the mezzanine (best for children). Also, the bathroom is off the main bedroom which meant washing arrangements slightly awkward. The age of the property means no aircon but this was not an issue for us as we actually had a rainy night and fans also helped. Parking a challenge and can be very pricey in Lyon

Nice appartment near the city center of Lyon

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment! The location is excellent – close to the city center but still quiet and comfortable. The apartment was very clean, well-equipped, and spacious enough for our family. The kids felt at home right away, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches that made our stay easy and relaxing. Communication with the host was smooth and friendly. A perfect choice for families visiting Lyon – we would be happy to come back!

Dirty apartment!!!

The apartment was extremely dirty - e.g. a bag of old and dirty sheets was in the cupboard and most of the apartment had not been cleaned (floors, surfaces, fridge), which was quite disgusting. Also, the apartment was run down and the kitchen badly equipped. Parts of the stove did not work. To top it all, we were asked for a 250 € deposit in case we break something. There was not much to break as most things were broken/worn out already.

The location of the property is close to old attractions in the city.

The place was infested with ants. The host indicated the cleaning staff didn't notice anything, which is hard to believe. The ants were on the counter in kitchen, the floor in the living room, the floor in the shower areas as well as all over the counter in the shower area.

Location is perfect. Exceptional restaurants and bars on your doorstep, and easy access to everywhere including public transport. The apartment is attractive, modern, and overlooks the Rhone.

Little details like no coffee pods for the coffee machine, or dishwasher pods were disappointing.

Lovely Lyon spot

Pretty and clean. Great location - close to metro, shops and lovely area. The hostess was friendly but she only told us about the EUR 250 deposit required two days before we traveled when we were already on the plane with no WiFi. This should have been mentioned at the point of booking weeks before.

A nightmare ( cauchemar)

No direct contact with owners-managers (just email or sms even for having my receipt on time); too many access codes (4) to get to the apartment; TV not working; no AC; a lot of mosquitos (moustiques), almost impossible sleeping the whole night. It looks that the managers are somehow bothered in assisting the customer. Despite the quality of the lodge and furniture, it has been the worst B&B experience I ever had

The apartment is small but comfortable and cosy. Central location.

It was unacceptable the fact that, by the time we should have checked in (3pm), the apartment hadn't been cleaned yet. I wrote to the owner and she told me to get in and to advise if the service wasn't done by 5 pm. We have a 1 year old kid and this proposal sounds simply crazy. So, since it was also heavily raining, we had to get in the car and wait until the job was finished, at 4.30 pm, when we saw the lady coming out. I'm still waiting from the owner's message to advise that the apartment is clean...

Very good

We stayed at the duplexe lumiere in February. The flat is on the second floor with a lovely view of the Rhone and the barges. It was spotless, very pretty and despite a very busy street- very quiet inside with the double-paned windows. The bed linens and towels were plentiful, super crisp and fresh. There are two very efficient heaters, plenty of hot water in the shower and an air conditioning unit. Also there’s enough dishes and cooking utensils for two or three people. The location is great and easy to reach from the airport/train station via bus which stops steps away. There’s a market ab 100 meters away up the street. I was really pleasantly surprised, after reading previous reviews in last minute, this place is so spotless it shines!

We were surprised by the lack of toilet paper and cleaning products and supplies. There was a dishwasher tablet supplied. The bed is a bit hard. Still, a nice place to stay.

the location is excellent! very easy to get around. the apartment was clean. the shower was excellent (but lacked hot water at times). comfortable. the keyless entry was extremely convenient. the apartment itself is very good

there’s no dishwashing tablets provided, which is annoying when the expectation is to wash everything up before you leave. providing one or two would just make the world of difference

One of the worst booking I have ever made!

Good things are the location of course, very close to center. Actually we have 2 flats from this service and the other one was absolutely better, no idea why this one is such.

Host couldn't find the key to enter the flat for 3 hours since check in time and once we enter the flat were half cleaned, there were still bad cloths in wardrobe left from previous rent. No knife to cut the bread There are 3 wifi passwords at the flat, 1 is on the box, 1 is written on instructions and 1 is on a separate paper with a different SSID but you need to spend time to try all for finding the right combination. Host couldn't find the key to enter the flat for 3 hours since check in time and once we enter the flat were half cleaned, there were still bad cloths in wardrobe left from previous rent. No towels for kitchen, most of the appliances were dirty, some were unhealthy to use. Dishware was broken, the cover for the tablet didn't work.
