Villa Buddha

The villa was amazing ! My friends and I loved our stay this place is perfect for holidays with a big group. Josmar was so kind and helpful, I would recommend this villa to anyone :)

We had a great time in Villa Buddha. The villa is furnished and designed well, the backyard is a paradise with grill, table tennis, wonderful plants, spacious pool and two friendly cats. This villa can easily give accomodation to bigger groups, it has multiple common spaces and 5 separated bedrooms. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with all the utilities we needed. Lino is a great host, he is super friendly and ready to help with anything, anytime. He takes great care of the accomodation and pays attention to its details. We had a great time there, we really enjoyed every moment we spent there.

The villa is absolutely stunning. The downstairs area seems unchanged from hundreds of years ago with a lovely massive living room, a beautiful courtyard and rustic decoration, with upstairs being extended and rejuvenated for modern comfort. The outside area is amazing, with good sun cover throughout the day with the trees providing some shade cover as well. The hosts Lino and Shawn are extremely responsive and happy to provide recommendations for Malta. They helped us in arranging a boat trip which was thoroughly enjoyed by the group. There is a 24 hour shop located a 1 minute walk from the Villa, with a supermarket around a 5 minute walk away.

We had 2 nights without air-con as the system had broken. Hosts were extremely apologetic, had a workaround of providing fans for the second night and the system was then fixed for the third night. In relation to air conditioning, please be aware that this is not included as part of the booking fee for the Villa and is provided through coin payment on a meter. The host, Lino, seems to live above the villa and both Lino and Shawn occasionally dropped by unannounced to check that everything was okay, we sometimes felt we had less privacy than expected. Although clearly well-intentioned, we would have preferred advance notice before visits.

Les grands espaces, l’espace extérieur piscine et le côté rustique ancien très impressionnant. Le calme et la proximité avec l’hôte, il habite au sein de la maison, étage supérieur. La gentille attention du hôte Livio, en décorant la maison avec sapin de Noel et crèche, très appréciable. La maison est très agréable mais en été pas en hiver. Voire commentaire en bas

Cette maison n’est pas faite pour être habitée en hiver par temps froid, manque de chauffage dans les parties communes. Malgré le geste commerciale du propriétaire en nous offrant la climatisation/chauffage dans les chambres, on n’avait pas chauffage dans la salle à mange ( cassée) et salon, couloir, paliers et salles de bains complètement absents. Pourtant il a été précisé par un autre voyageur mais je ne l’ai pas voulue prendre en compte . On a dû demander à plusieurs reprises du bois pour réchauffer le salon, à chaque fois 5 bouches de bois maxi, à peine pour chauffer 3H et j’ai galère pour en trouver dans des magasins, surtout pendant Noël tout était ferme. La cuisine en très salle état, on a du relaver toutes les assiettes. Les escaliers en colimaçon et très en pente 30 marches pour arriver dans le chambres du haut rendent difficile l’accès pour des personnes d’un certains âge (nulle part est spécifié sur le site) dommage surtout quand on préviens à l’avance qu’on se déplace avec des grands parents. Je conseille donc fortement cette maison pour des familles jeunes et en période chaude…sûrement très agréable. Je n’aime pas mettre des avis négatifs, c’est dans le but d’améliorer l’expérience des autres visiteur et ne pas rater leurs attentes.
