Mushroom cottage

It was quaint with original brickwork features

Apart from the bedding & towels being clean, it looked like it hadn't been touched in months with everything covered in cobwebs & the kitchen counter tops were horribly sticky. Also, I wouldn't have described it as a cottage. It was more a converted outbuilding

Lovely place, village and area

Very cosy, had everything you would need. Cute and quaint property. Some imperfections but they don’t really effect the stay

The one thing for me would be the check out being too early and check in being too late. Even an hour extra either side would make a huge difference.

Excellent location in Castleton. A really nice conversion. Everything you need for two people.

We found the bed too small as we’re used to a super king and the wet room/toilet was a very small space and took a long time to dry out

A cottage with Mush-room despite being small!

Very easy to find keys, although I knew I didn't get a signal on my phone in Castleton so in advance I had screen grabbed the code. The lock box location and code working were easy enough. Mushroom cottage is the kind of place I want to retire to, view of Winn Hill and Lose Hill, in Hope Valley, quiet end of lane, historic refurbished stable in a small country location. Perfect size with everything mod con related. Plenty of room despite being a small abode. Nicely finished with period features. Great stay!

Cute little holiday let for two

Lovely little barn conversion. Very cozy & warm. Bed so comfortable. Close to the centre of the village and plenty of on street parking available.

The spiral staircase isn’t suitable for anyone with mobility issues and is best climbed with slippers on as it’s not too comfy on your feet.

Exactly what we wanted.

Price. Location. View across Hope Valley. Had everything we needed in the cottage. Some reviews mentioned the shower but we found it worked perfectly. We did not have any issues parking outside or very close the cottage.

Beautiful property in a lovely location for the village and surrounding area, supplied with necessities, comfy bed. All over a great place.

Only issue was I could not get hot water from the shower but this is probably an issue just because of me and for a short stay wasn’t too much of a problem

Very cosy property , warm and well facilitated

Would have benefited from a dust down stairs, the boiler was a bit noisy, ear plugs recommended it you want an early night, Narrow spiral staircase to the lounge upstairs, fine for us but may be an issue for anyone with mobility issues

Wonderful weekend away with my daughter, to enjoy Castleton and to do the Cavedale walk.

Excellent location with close proximity to the village centre and Cavedale; well laid out and very clean. The property is small but perfect for two with everything you need for a very comfortable stay.

OK but wet room horrible to use and fan running alot of the stay, next to the bed

Struggled to find the cottage as the name sign was on the gate which was propped open. Great location.

Hated the tiny wet room/toilet. Everywhere was soaked each time showered. Fan did not turn off so was often running for hours which was noisy as bed right nextdoor

The stunning views and the location were excellent. The cottage was quaint and very clean and we'll equipped.

From the start we had trouble with the people next door blocking our access to the cottage by parking on the cobblestones. We had to squeeze behind the car with our luggage in a hailstorm just to get in. The bed was very uncomfortable and so was the sofa upstairs. The parking is inadequate we had to move 4 dustbins to gain a place on the road to park. It would have been nice to have somewhere to sit and enjoy the view, because the windows are so small you have to stand to look outside. The rear garden/courtyard was always in the shade and the furniture was so heavy it was impossible to move.

The cottage was very cute and clean. Just enough place for two people. Great location in the heart of the Peak District with Cave Dale, Mam Tor and The Great Ridge just around the corner.

The central heating didn’t work. Since we visited in the middle of summer it wasn’t that much of a problem (we only needed it to dry wet clothes) but I can’t imagine doing without it in winter. Also we never received the promised information regarding how to get the keys to the property. I had to call customer’s service multiple times to the info. Also they’ve mentioned they sent an email to the owner to contact me but they never did.

Excellent location with outstanding views over the Hope Valley

The only downside was that as we travelled by train - we couldn't access the cottage until 5pm & had to vacate by 9am so know where to store our bags

We loved our stay at Mushroom Cottage

Cosy, compact and well equipped cottage in a great location.

We did not receive any communication regarding key collection despite contacting Booking.com a couple of days before our holiday commenced and the hosts being asked to contact us. Consequently I had to phone Booking.com when we arrived at the property and a key code was found dating back to 2018 - luckily it worked or we would still be on the doorstep.

Mushroom Cottage is a cosy old coach house redevelopment. It's small, but it has everything needed and perfect for a couple. It's in an excellent location with great views from the small upper floor window.
