The cottage is fantastic in an excellent location, close to pubs and restaurants near the centre of the village. The whole of the property is spotlessly clean and the kitchen has everything you need, the beds were very comfortable. The central heating made the cottage cosy and the wood burning stove was a bonus. The rear seating area would be lovely in the summer. Free parking is available outside the cottage but this is on a first come first served basis, we parked just over the road in the public parking area which was reasonably priced, all in all a great weekend.

Superb location, really couldn't want for a better spot in the heart of Castleton. The cottage was well appointed with lovely decor. Little touches like milk in the fridge and good towels on the bed added to the welcome feel.
The internal doors are both quirky and troublesome! My youngest son and I are 6' tall, we spent a lot of time either saying "ouch" when banging our heads, or crouching down!
The car parking is a little hit and miss. Although the listing states off-road parking, which is true, the spaces are rather haphazard. We were lucky and got there early enough to park in the one spot outside two cottages.

Great central location
Not very clean. Appreciate that old properties are harder, but as previous guests stated cobwebs by sockets, mildew and peeling paint in bathroom
