Great place for Christmas

Location to walks, amenities and pubs was great.

Good location, not much else.

Location, hot water and shower.

Cobwebs everywhere, dog hairs everywhere particularly behind furniture, could fo with a good clean. Information folder well out of date and inaccurate in places.

Loved exploring the many walks in the Castleton area.

Very central Location, it was lovely and quiet with a cosy garden area perfect for our small dog.

It felt a bit cold(the weather had deteriorated) but we enjoyed using the fireplace and soon warmed the cottage.

Mill leat visit May 2025

Excellent shower, location is superb, ideal location for the walks we had planned.

Only down sides were parking, as it's difficult to park outside without blocking others but the provision of local car parking pass enabled loal parking behind visitor centre. Induction hob is very slow to boil water and cook vegetables therein. No other issues.

Lovely cottage, great location.

A lovely quaint cottage, comfortable beds, good parking arrangements. Allowed an earlier check in which was very much appreciated.

Whilst there was a bottle of prosecco in the fridge, that was about it re welcome tray. No sense of being a "warm" welcome, maybe a cookie, milk etc would have been a nice gesture. The shower broke and couldn't be used, however, in fairness the owner was easily contactable and arranged for a plumber to fix on the same day.

I like a firm double bed. The double was a little too soft for my preference. Given the size of the bedroom a king size bed would be great

We had a great stay and would highly recommend.

Lovely comfortable cottage which was well equipped. Nice enclosed yard which was perfect for the dog. Excellent location for local pubs and shops. Beautiful walks right on the doorstep and a parking permit for all the local car parks was an excellent addition.

the property is conveniently located, quaint and has lots of character. great location and a nice change to a hotel. it was also clean.

the size of the bed in the main bedroom is very small, we found ourselves having to sleep in the spare bedroom in a single each for more space as it was too hot. No toilet brush?

Had a great weekend in this cosy little cottage. Location is excellent, right in the centre of the town. Parking at the property is tight, but the main carpark is 30 seconds away, and the property provides a permit. Nice and quiet too, so a great night's sleep is assured.

The cottage was beautiful. Had everything we needed.

Hasn’t realised the parking was away from the property. As we were leaving early and returning late we were often the only car in the car park.

Beautiful cottage, very cosy in the most perfect location. Lovely to see a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge! Fully kitted out & lots of handy items around cleaning items, hose outside is a godsend! WI-FI signal was excellent! Parking permit was hugely appreciated.

A few niggles. TV is a nightmare & can be cheaply replaced with a simple SMART TV. Dishwasher wasn't working. Radiator in the main bedroom not working during my stay. Parking has to be across the road in the main car park as all the locals park around the cottage..no issue off season but will be tricky at peak.

The convenient location. The modernisation of the property

The TV needs to be updated. The fires handle needs to be secure. Basic things weren’t there eg dishcloth, binbags, toilet brush. Mattresses were uncomfortable

Great cottage

Great location, well equipped cottage and very cosy. Once parked you don’t need to drive anywhere as lovely walks and food places close by. Nice to have Christmas decs up and some treats in the fridge.

Lovely cottage in an excellent location

What a fantastic little cottage right in the centre of a lovely village with all amenities right on your doorstep. We had a fabulous time there walking in the nearby hills with the dog. High recommend
