Avalon Ubud Castle & SPA

The property was amazing and the leading category villa was better although I booked deluxe. The amenities are limited. Would be better having a bottle water in room and bigger breakfast portion.

We love the location because its on the outskirt of Ubud, beside the river and jungle. The garden is beautiful, the staff amazing! ( except for the manager lady , who was rude and moody with a lack of customer care)

Well, we stayed in this accommodation for 4 nights in the big Bungalow and was nothing like we expected. First of all its definitely not 4* I would probably give 3* with nice linen. Also its definitely not a catle. Its a really confused project, with throwing everything in, including some Maya Mexican vibe, add some mermaid and medieval, sprinkle with some balinese and Asian. There is no reception, you need to go down try to find where you can check in. We arrived a bit early so the room wasn't ready. When we had the Bungalow first thing we noticed the cracking floorboards. And I m not talking about little cracking, it was horrible, like it will give away any minutes. Its so loud you can hear the next Bungalow floor cracking, even at night if you need to get up to use the toilet. We hear them, probably they hear us. Definitely need to check and fix the suport beam or build some foundation underneath. Also the first night , we couldn't sleep as the bad base was broken and the mattress was sagging. We complained next day and they said, couldn't do anything as the maintenance person away for 2 weeks. Luckily Young Kadek came to our rescue and with hubby help they fix it. Claiming 4* the common area looks more like backpackers, with shared kitchen, pool table etc. The pool are is lovely, although almost all sun bed was broken . The 4 days we stayed, the same beer bottles, glasses etc were there ( not ours) , so not really looked after . In the pool were missing tiles and wires hanging out. The food is extremely overpriced and pretty average. You can order your food on their app which is handy. If you want better food , have to walk up to the top of the hill and find Scent coffee 1/4 the price 1000% better taste. You need to ask for housekeeping

Incredible aesthetics. A wonderful mixture of old world amazing stone work and comfortable beds and modern amenities. Every corner had wow factor.

Because of its positioning 7 km from the Centre of all and a large number of ceremonies always going on sometimes the traffic made it hard to get somewhere on time

Unique architecture and concept. The room was spacious, and the pools by the river were nice.

The bed linen was poor for a suite, and the curtains did not block out light effectively. The room was not very clean (spider webs in several areas). The gas in the kitchen was not working, and the issue was not fixed. The room and furniture look old and need renovation. Water pressure in the bathroom was poor.
