Rianna Rooms & Breakfast

Excellent host, very kind and helpful. We were very grateful for the possibility of late check-in, as we couldn't arrive to the property befor midnight. Scala is such a nice discovery after the crowds, hustle and bustle of Amalfi, Positano and Vietri sul Mare. Our room in the bed and breakfast was slightly dated, however, everything was super clean, worked well and the decor was charming in a way. Amazing views of Ravello and the coast from the room and the balcony, serene surroundings. Excellent coffee served in the morning, breakfast was good and plentiful, although rather on the sweet side, as one can expect in Italy. Parking is just next to the bed and breakfast, so very conveniently located, unfortunately at an extra fee. In the morning, there was a small village market at the parking: an opportunity to buy local produce and see what the locals buy.

The incredible hospitality that I experience at this hotel (bnb) was phenomenal. The staff is friendly and very informative when asked questions which was a positive experience. The location itself felt like tight-knit community that looks out for each other and is very peaceful at night. Also, the breakfast that's at the hotel was fresh and tasted incredibly delightful. My mom loved the cappuccino they offered and drank it everyday.

It took me a short while to figure out where they were located (building wise) and check in was simple but since I got there late, I couldn't figure out which room was mine until I called them.

The room itself was nice, with a fresh renovation and an interesting design. The beds were comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. A larger shower cabin would make the stay more comfortable, as the current one is extremely small. The balconies are separated only by simple wooden lattice panels, so there is very little privacy. A small table on the balcony would also be a useful addition. Check-in was easy, the instructions were clear, and the parking fee was reasonable at €20 for two nights. The owner personally serves breakfast and makes excellent coffee. The savory breakfast selection could be improved, as it consisted mainly of one type of salami, boiled eggs, and processed cheese. Dinner can be ordered in the restaurant, and the owner's pizzas are very good.

Unfortunately, our experience in the restaurant was affected by a rude waitress. When we entered, she asked what we wanted in an impolite tone. As a result, we chose not to return the following evening. We prefer to spend our money where guests feel welcome and respected. The parking area is paid but not supervised. One evening, local children were running around loudly for at least an hour and playing hide-and-seek between parked cars. This became stressful when they started climbing on my car, and I had to shout from the balcony to stop them. No local adults seemed concerned. Fortunately, I was there and paying attention. As it was a rental car with a €1,500 excess, even a small scratch could have become an expensive problem.

Don't bother with dinner at the restaurant, the food is bad.
