2 friends travelling for a long weekend of Darts and beer and was perfect for what we needed. Good location near the main train station and short walk to the main square. Friendly staff who spoke good english and were very helpful
beds were slightly narrow but adequate for 2 nights

ASH in Antwerp is in a perfect city centre location. The room was clean and comfortable, and I liked that there’s a kitchen where you can cook your own food. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They also have a small library area, and I appreciated that free towels were provided in the girls’ room. Overall a very nice stay and I would recommend it.

It was near the city center, next to the bus station, and only a 10-minute walk from the train station. Also, the room was okay-ish, nothing extra, it has a bed at least, and a shower. The 'hotel' has a storage room, and they let you use it for free, before check-in, or after check-out, so you can go out to see some sights.
First of all, it's not a hotel, but a hostel, and actually, Booking.com doesn't distinguish the two much better. It was July, incredibly hot, and there was no AC in the room; you could get a fan or open the window. You need to ask for nearly everything from the reception desk (like a simple hairdryer), but there is no 0-24 desk service, so if you want to use it tomorrow morning, you either ask for it the night before or you need to wait until 9:00 am, when the receptionist arrives. I finally found someone, and she told me to wait for the receptionist. I thought she maybe go to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, but it turned out that after 40 minutes she was also the daytime receptionist. We waited nearly an hour just for this, it sure was good to wake up early to go outside... Also, there were so many rules for my taste (they locked in the kitchen if you stay one minute longer, etc), I don't feel like a guest here, but a college inmate. And it's way too overpriced, I paid for one night the same price as a proper 4-star hotel room. Antwerp is crawling with hotels, so if you are above 25, I really do not recommend the place.

I had registered in advance on the app, so entering was smooth and convenient, with no wasted time. The bed was clean and the room was nice.
The towels were a bit smelly.

The Ash is situated in prime location to access the city centre and public transport, with bike hire and the bus depo being meters away from the accommodation.
I booked a twin room with my friend and the room exceeded my expectations. Plenty of room for our packs and belongings.
The kitchen and shared spaces were fantastic!

Room was spacious and clean. Common areas are tidy and organised as well. Staff were accomodating and friendly.
I suggest to put on atleast a lamp close to the bed as it could get really dark at night if we didnt like to open the curtains. I also recommend to include bath mats so as not the wet the toilet every after shower.

Location and staff get 10/10!! Rooms were clean but still had a few details, can be understandable since we checked in early.
I know we stayed in high season, and prices go way up. But for a price like that, I would’ve expected to have A/C

Very quiet, pleasant hostel. Good mattress. Spacious kitchen. Free luggage storage.
• LACK OF / INADEQUATE VENTILATION / AIR CONDITIONING
The bedroom window opens just a few centimetres inwards, at the top only (see photo). The weather was hot so we left the small portable fan on throughout the night but it could only provide a TINY BIT of heat relief to the lower bunk beds.
The study room is windowless. No air conditioning anywhere, not even a fan in the tiny windowless shower/ toilet which becomes very hot and humid.
• Disconcerting: The light switch is outside of the shower/toilet AND thanks to a floor to ceiling clear glass panel you are fully visible to others when in the shower!
• No hand wash in the dorm room. We had to use the body wash from the shower room.
• The kitchen stoves take forever to heat up. Dishes aren't cleaned properly as they are loaded incorrectly in the dishwasher. All the hand wash and washing up liquid bottles in the kitchen must be labelled.
• If cigarette smoke bothers you you won't enjoy the terrace.

The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming.
On the positive side, the accommodation is very well located, just a short 15-minute walk to the main tourist attractions and the city center.
The room was spacious, but the mattress was a bit too hard for my taste. It was also quite hot during our stay, and unfortunately there was no air conditioning — just a small fan.

Myself and a friend (both female) were harassed by men staying in the hotel knocking on our door at 1.47am and 6.30am. The men knocked repeatedly for several minutes despite being told to go away, they kept knocking and trying to talk to us through the door. We told them several times to go away. Reception is closed overnight but we were told if we had any issues the night guard was on call. We tried to call the night guard four times with no response or return phone call. We didn’t feel safe being at the property. We waited awhile until the men had left from outside our door and packed our bags and left the property at 8.30am. We called reception when it was open to let them know we had checked out and to let them know we couldn’t get hold of the night guard and they apologised and said they’d look into it and to email them. I emailed them screenshots of the calls to the night guard and asked them to refund us just for the one night we didn’t stay there and they have refused but said they’d speak to the night guard and review their protocols. We ended up booking in to another hotel a few minutes walk away last minute.

Clean stylish and great location.

The location is great and the room was very clean.
Our windows faced a very busy street that was loud 24/7. When we opened the windows it was loud and we couldn’t sleep, but when we closed the windows, there was no air in the room and we couldn’t sleep either.
Another thing: my digital key stopped working in the middle of my stay. It happened when I was away from the hostel. That day I came back very late when the reception was no longer working and the hostel was locked from the outside! If my friend hadn’t opened the door for me I have no idea what i would have done. It was a horrible experience.

The location is perfect, close to the train station and the center! the security also was pretty good, you needed a keycard to enter the building, the elevator, the kitchen and the bedroom, they have a full kitchen and a bar!
Even though the keycard was very safe, I couldn’t use to open the door from the common area, and I always need to go to the bar to enter the kitchen. The locker room was outside of the bedroom, so they didn’t have lockers inside of the room. And one of the restroom was always without toilet paper.

Walking distance to museums and attractions, nice customer service at reception, great communication before and during stay, simple amenities but good value, I would stay here again!
As this is a student hostel, it accommodates groups of travellers who can make a lot of noise when returning late at night or in the communal kitchen, for me this was the only downside, everything went as we expected.

Great place to stay, very near to Antwerpen Central Station. Walkable distance to many shops, restaurants, and public transports. Rooms were very clean, staffs were very friendly and welcoming.
8.0 / 10.0
Convenient location and not too crowded
The self check-in outside of the building is quite clumsy. The beds don’t give much privacy and sound/light isolation. Also, you are required to use their bedsheets but have to do it yourself.

Excellent location. ALL of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I didn't use the kitchen area it looked well appointed and clean as were the dining areas. My private room was better than a lot of hotels I've stayed in. It was spacious with good storage and a large table. The shower was great. The mattress was a bit softer than I like but it was comfortable and all of the bedding was spotless. This place is great value.
The elevator broke down on the Saturday evening and wasn't repaired by the time I left on Monday at lunchtime, thankfully I was on the 4th floor. The water also went off as well so I was unable to shower before going out. I don't like carpet in bedrooms. Another chair is needed. Hand soap for the sink is needed as it is separate from the toilet and shower room. The garden area would benefit from a tidy up and clean. Picnic benches would be a good asset instead of the inadequate furniture in place. I thoroughly recommend this place.

Good room and bathroom for the price. Receptionist was really nice and helpful. Plenty of space downstairs and good kitchen facilities.
Bed wasn’t great. Twin bed rather than double and was in an awkward position

We found bed bugs in our room next to sink, we reported the issue to the hotel in order to get the refund. They refused to do so, horrible customer service … All our clothes were damaged..
We are disappointed with the customer service... when we found the bed bugs and reported it to the receptionist, we were told it could happen in any hotel.... like seriously ?? They offered to wash our clothes, they took the matter lightly ! after multiple reminders, we were told it was not possible to get a refund.

The kitchen is very well equipped, you can comfortably make a meal no troubles
The app for key cards can be a little laggy, the lockers close to my dorm room could still be opened despite having a lock on them

location to centre.
comfortable bed.
the room light is sensor - super sensitive; rolling in bed would turn the light on so not a great night sleep.
small room and shallow bunks so felt like I was right next to the face of top bunk person when sorting out my stuff.
online checkin i didn’t like having to upload stuff.

For his price everything was good. Maybe this check-in is a little bit strange for me. I have to do everything online before to go in the hotel.

location is great - a few steps away from train station, FlixBus stop, city centre. rooms are small, but exceptionally clean, was waiting for much poorer conditions, linens and towel are clean as well. not much things in the room - bed, small locker (do not forget to bring the lock! it is not provided), bunk beds, sink, toilet and shower. great thing that there was a hairdryer and socket next to each bed. staff is friendly, speaks English.
