Everything the staff are amazing

Lovely pub in a good location not far from the city centre. And good breakfast and vfm.

Room very hot despite use of a fan and view was a brick wall

The hotel is friendly, bustling, and brilliantly located for exploring Clifton and the old city. It's very good value for money, and the staff are lovely. Unusually for a budget hotel, the bath towels were large and fluffy! Fans were provided, and were quiet and efficient during a few very hot nights.

The rooms are tired and basic, although clean and fairly comfortable. There was an offputting odour in our en-suite, the stairs are quite steep, and doors ill-fitting (loud to close).

Staff were lovely - attentive and warm. Room was clean.

The room was tiny, very tatty, dingy and dated - to be fair, this was clear from the booking.com photo, and I knew it was going to be bad, but it was a last-minute booking and Channings was the only option available. The shabbiness wouldn't matter if it was a bargain - but for a dingy single room at Channings I paid MORE than I did at two other much nicer Bristol hotels that same week. Would not repeat.
