Great holiday between Cawdor and Nairn

We like the location of the property, it was easy to find and had direct access to nice woodland for walking the dog and for the kids to enjoy exploring.

The hood over the cooker was too low and made difficult cooking. The amount of light in the kitchen could be improved too.

Beautiful rural cottage

Lovely location, nice garden, so much bird song. Lots of books, games. Fantastic for cycling, at least 4 days on bikes from door. Also nice to have Cawdor Castle and Tavern a mile away.

The cottage was pretty big to what I expected, was quite dated decor wise but it fit with the style of the cottage and wasn't unclean or unkempt. In fact the decor condition and cleanliness of the cottage as a whole was excellent. The grounds of the property are huge and you're right next to the woods. The cottage was well stocked regarding appliances and crockery, utensils etc. The area is pretty secluded but I like that as it's quiet and you don't have to worry about being noisy around neighbours so a car for transport is essential. My family are from the area so we know it well but there is plenty to do and see.

Water pressure was very poor so the shower flow was awful and the hot water was scalding. I couldn't let my daughter have a shower as it would go burning hot then freezing cold which is really unsafe with kids in the house and I'm not keen on my daughter having baths due to eczema but needs must. Only time it stayed at the correct temp was first thing. I honestly loved the cottage but the water temperature and pressure is a real put off and I noted it's already been mentioned as far back as 2014 in the cottage guest book. I would honestly come back in a heart beat as we all really liked the cottage but the water pressure and temperature is a real put off.
