The location was superb and the dog walking at the door, and beautiful. A charming old cottage, with lovely enclosed garden, in a tiny hamlet. Near to Swanage for shopping and the beach, near to Studland for some fantastic coastal and beach walking and excellent pub The Bankes Arms. Also near enough to Worth Matravers to walk to the superb Square and Compass pub, which is a good start and end for some beautiful circular walks to the stunning coastline. The woodburner kept us good and warm, and there were electric radiators around the house if needed.
The front door is very ill fitting and lets a lot of cold air into the front porch. The shower attachment in the bath doesn't work well at all and needs attention. Very low doorframes in keeping with the cottage, but they take some getting used to if you are tall!

Very cold
Paying separately for power and having to buy your own firewood

Location was very peaceful, but also convenient for exploring the Dorset coast, the cottage has character due to its age but these features will be an issue for some.
Very cold on arrival as the central heating works off a log burner which obviously was not lit, there are a number of electric heaters in the property which struggled to keep the cottage heated. The narrow stairs and low doorways will be a problem for some people, I did bang my head once, but remember it is an older cottage and it has character as they say.

Location of the property was perfect for our planned walks & visit s to local sites. Well equipped kitchen made catering easy. Every room was clean .
The bathroom could have been better as we found the shower lacking in power and the bath large to fill.

Loved the log burner, all the lovely walks on the doorstep and proximity to Swanage. A very cute cottage perfect for a couple.
The listing said there was a hairdryer but I couldn’t find it! Great secure garden - we had our two small dogs with us and they were perfectly safe when we let them out. Really worth picking up some logs as this kept the cottage warm - the log burner heats the radiators upstairs and (from our understanding) gives hot water too. There are plug in radiators too but we didn’t use these. So if you’re comfy lighting fires this is a great place to stay. Make sure you have cash too to pay the electricity!

Nice cottage. Clean and well presented .
It was difficult to get warm unless all the electric radiators were on which was expensive.

Gorgeous rural location but within walking distance of 2 pubs and also coastal path, bus routes and real dinosaur footprints! Parking, wifi, and host responsiveness / helpfulness all really good.

Really lovely little out of the way place. Great to base yourself from for an active weekend of exploring
No shower, the property is very compact with low doorways - something to think about when you’re 6’3”
