Beautiful Cotswolds cottage

Brilliant aesthetics. Charismatic experience that matched the required Cotswold environment

The cottage invoked feeling part of the Cotswold history. Self catering facilities were good. The property met my expectation of a 17th century stone thatched cottage ie super inglenook fireplace with an open fire (kiln dried logs only) provided a grand warmth visually and physically during the cold weather we experience;d: Rural, but close to shops. Great aesthetic look. Good 'housekeeper' support.

One bathroom as expected, but there was also the clean outside toilet, so with planning it was no great problem. As is usual with such a period cottage there were some drafts.

Beautiful thatched cottage in a stunning location.

Beautiful thatched cottage only a stroll from the shops and restaurants on lovely, quiet street. There is a beautiful garden wiith furniture so you can enjoy sitting out in the sun. However, we want to return when it's cold so that we can light the fire and sit in the ingle nook! The kitchen is well equipped. The decor and furniture are very dated but this adds to the charm. The cottage is so quaint and the location is fabulous for exploring the region. We would definitely recommend it and look forward to returning in the future.

The cottage was Beautiful. Great location. Had everything you needed. The host was very friendly and helpful. We would stay again.

lovely cottage in a beautiful location with very welcoming & accomodating host.

exterior & location were stunning. host was very welcoming leaving cake & milk & kitchen was stocked with essentials. Firewood left & host left heating on for my late arrival host was excellent.

external back door didnt lock from the inside. a lot of cobwebs & a huge dead spider in sitting room.

Fab location and cottage and friendly highly accommodating host.

We had a slight problem with the heating and Marion arrived within 10 mins to solve the problem. She also gave us free wood for the fire although she got the heating working. Fantastic host.

Badly in need of some love

Excellent location near Chipping Camden. House was also warm enough.

Best described as 'unloved' - in a fairly dirty state with flies on window sills, ancient carpets, and crockery which has to be cleaned by hand. Rather than modern day dishwashers Fireplace had the essentials- but again looked like the maids don't touch it. Old furniture and a rickety kitchen table Welcome pack consisted of a half pint of milk. Not sure if thats thoughtful, or thoughtless. For comparison, our colleagues in Norton barns received a hamper of food for the same price House in bad need of refurbishment. Bathroom in a particularly unpleasant state. Poor water pressure. A shower curtain that didn't reach all the way round and suck to your backside. Poor security and one had to work out every time which key opened which lock. They all looked the same All in all a very poor experience . Owners need to do a lot better here than just charge. Perhaps worst was access, through a seriously narrow entrance. Where owners allowed shrubs to cover stones- so you never knew if your car was going to be shredded by a hidden stone. Completely thoughtless Invest!!

Good

It was cosy, warm, central heating was good though I'd have been a very brave woman to light A fiire as the fireplace was huge and cleaning it after a fire was daunting.

Television, which was our evening entertainment was too small.

Chocolate box cottage

Great location in Chipping Campden. Beautiful cottage just a short walk from the village centre. Cottage had everything we needed and more. We would high recommend Rose Cottage & we can’t wait to go back.

Schnuckeliges Hobbit-Haus

Die Bilder trügen nicht. Reizendes Haus mit Garten und Parkplatz. Großer Kamin im Wohnzimmer. Geschmackvolle Einrichtung. Alles Notwendige vorhanden. Die Heizung reichte aus, um die alten Gemäuer in sehr kalten Nächten warm zu halten. Ansprechpartnerin vor Ort war freundlich und hilfreich.

Man sollte nicht erwarten, dass man keine Autos hört. Für einen so kleinen Ort ist der Berufsverkehr beachtlich. Doppelfenster lassen aber guten Schlaf zu. Sauberkeitsstandards sind unterschiedlich. Ich bin nicht pingelig, aber eine Grundreinigung täte dem Haus gut. Den Schrank unter der Spüle sollte man besser nicht öffnen. Kalkablagerungen im Bad und an der Spüle wären nur mit Essigessenz wegzukriegen. Aber ich wollte ja Urlaub machen.
