Camside, Chipping Campden - Taswell Retreats

absolutely everything super clean beds were absolutely spot on & clean we just loved everything about it was cosy and also the board games were a bonus the kids played for hours the bath is amazing its huge! again absolutely beautiful and spotless in a gorgeous village of the cotswolds

Big spacious and cosey!

It was a nice property however they were very strict with their checkout time. I asked kindly as I am a new mum that 10am check out is too early and I would have paid an extra hour. I also explained I do not want to be flustered. Considering the normal check in times at 4pm they should be flexible with check out time. They provided a cot for my baby as requested however the bed sheets did not look clean, I sent a picture to the staff member which shows its not clean but no apology.

Very nice and clean. A great size and nice and warm. Booked very short notice (30 minutes) and it was not a problem at all.

Drive was a little thin for my van, but my van is quite wide. A normal car would be fine.

We really enjoyed our 15 day stay at Camside. Pros: - Nice house - Nice garden - Clean (but dusty) - Washing machine worked well - Two full bathrooms - 1 half bathroom on ground floor - Good beds - Good pillows - .3 miles from the shops and restaurants - Easy street parking (driveway too small and difficult to get into in an SUV) - TV with lots of channels to watch - Comfortable seating in living room - Wood burning stove with wood supplied - Good heating in each room (although you have to turn each radiator on manually which we did not know and it was chilly. This wasn’t explained and we Americans are not used to radiators. My English friends came to visit and showed us.) Cons: - Dusty when we arrived (only a problem if you have allergies) - Steep stairs (for those with mobility issues) - Told to put out all the garbage bins (6?) when 95% of the rubbish wasn’t ours (we ate out every meal). Then bring in all the bins next day. There were 3 of us, me with mobility issues and need a walker to walk, and 2 people in their 80s with some dementia. We were not told this before renting this house. - Spiders and bugs coming into bedroom through the French doors (needs to be better sealed) - Only one bath towel and hand towel per person. We were there 9 days before getting replacements. Could not wash them ourselves because it would have taken at least 5 days for them to dry on drying rack. It took 2 full days to dry a Tshirt as an example. And that was with the drying rack next to a radiator in the living room. Weather too changeable to risk hanging anything outside. - House cleaner came on Day 9 but did not vacuum.

Cosy well equipped cottage. Wood burner fire.

Close location to village centre. Lovely big kitchen with dishwasher. Very quiet

Settee was a little worn and one of the twin beds needs a replacement mattress but not a big problem for us.

Location of the property was great in terms of walking into the village to the shops or restaurants. Photos were as per the website and the host was extremely communicative and helpful.

General cleanliness. A lot of dust and cobwebs. Only 2 chairs with the outside table. As it was hot we spent a lot of time outside. Not enough seating for 4. Plus the metal chairs got extremely hot.
