The property was amazing, very modern comfortable and in a great location

The open fire was very dusty and i have a dust allergy, you expect a bit of dust but there was piles of it. In some places on the floor large areas had been missed. As we were leaving, a man came out of the lounge and said we weren’t supposed to use that door that we were leaving out of, then asked if had an enjoyable stay. I just think when you are paying £105.00 a night you want perfection, i suppose a portion of this goes to booking.com. I also think when we arrived the lady was lovely but didn’t introduce us so we did not know her name. The cupboard in the room was very noisy every time you walked near it or anybody in the other room was moving it was rattling. The bathroom door didn’t close without locking it, not ideal if someone is the shower and the other person needs the toilet

There’s a lot to like about the property. It’s a beautiful, quirky period building with all of the expected charm - creaky stairs, sash windows, high ceilings etc It was centrally located in town and a short walk from the railway station. Room and public areas were very clean. Owners were very helpful and friendly.

Our room (4) was in part of the building that hadn’t yet been refurbished. We felt it had been photographed well and looked much better in the pics. It was tired in parts and was in need of some tlc. Some of the fixtures and fittings needed an update (tiny tv, old style lightbulbs in bedside lamps which got really hot, too much furniture in the room). Our room had shutters but no curtains, meaning it was broad daylight in the room from around 4am each morning. The sliding door to the en-suite didn’t close properly (about 2/3 inches gap!) which wasn’t ideal! Once the refurbishments are complete, I’m sure these will be addressed.

Great location. Lovely comfy bed.

Bathroom on a different floor to room. No bath mat. Shower was too hot then cold. Room was a bit tatty. No full length mirror. Only one set of keys. And informed if we brought hot food into the room we would be kicked out straight away and they would know as they had a ring doorbell camera. So had to sit outside to eat our takeaway food at the end of our night out in bad weather.
