    Anistar 1 is suitable for a family of 4, with its own bathroom and toilet. Although there was a bathtub, it was rusty and so we did not use it. Wifi was weak too and there is no TV. Basic face and bath towels, with good quality bathing soaps, shampoo and conditioner were provided. The stay was designed to immerse you into Peranakan culture, with splashes of Art Deco paintings and decorations, making it a very insta-worthy place. Hosts were thoughtful to include turndown services, including native snacks like peanut candy, coconut cookies. The hotel location is just literally minutes away from Michellin starred restaurants, a hawker centre, and good street food. It is a calm oasis amidst the hot, humid Penang weather. Perfect place if you wish to just feel the vibe and charm of the warmth hospitality of Penangites, and reconnect with your loved ones with no modern gadgets to steal away your attention from personal interactions.

    The hotel are fantastic but the Nutmeg C room i booked is not worth the price i paid. When I first walk in the room, it looks like the room hasn’t been occupied for a long time. It smells badly and the pillow atthe loft full with dust. After I complained, the very friendly staff help to clean it again and replenish the room with the essentials oils only improve the situation. Anyway, the Cinnamon room 1&2 were superb with for the price vs the space. It is highly recommended for big grp to get the cinnamon room 1&2! Coway water filter also provided. Great place for 古色古香photography sessions too!

    It's an art hotel. Beautiful but annoying. Mostly no Internet in my room. Hard to walk around in room & hotel. Many things to trip over. If you like history, you'll like this hotel. But an average traveler won't, especially since it's expensive. Most staff are friendly & helpful.
