    The nice hotel locats in core place of George town. Judy is so kind. She helped us to order a taxi to airport and prepared the breakfirst for us pretty early that morning when we went to the airport. The lady who serves the breakfirst is not so nice. She serves the western people first and is not warmhearted to asia guests.

    I truly had the most enjoyable stay at Coffee atelier out of all the accomodations in Malaysia. Upon arrival I was welcomed into the reception which appeared to be a beautiful art gallery. There was water upon arrival and two map brochures outlining recommendations. Team were extremely organised where they had prepared a list of recommendations for different cuisines. The rooms are well maintained, clean and comfortable. It was truly a unique experience being able to stay in an antique house. Only downside is if you’re staying downstairs you will be able to hear your upstairs neighbour walking. Judy and Ruby were extremely helpful from the start to the end, they were very responsive via WhatsApp with my random questions like where to exchange money and where to go for Chendol. I was well looked after by the team throughout my stay with great hospitality and kindness. The breakfast included was delicious. The chef Wei Wei makes perfect scrambled eggs and bacon where the bacon is crispy yet juicy. While the eggs are cooked just right to a soft custard texture. Highly recommend Coffee Atelier and I would definitely return if I ever visit Penang again as the hotel, staff and location was excellent.

    We stayed at Coffee Atelier for 5 nights in April. This is a special place. It's really not for those who prefer the impersonal aesthetic of a chain hotel. Coffee Atelier is packed with atmosphere; a place of authentic heritage with a deep connection to the history of George Town. It is also in an ideal location from which to walk about to explore historic George Town. About our room: The large front entryway for each one of the converted shophouses is for both the first-floor room & the second-floor room. Ours was on the first-floor, and it consisted of 3 spaces: A dressing room with a large closet, a/c & ceiling fan, table, & chair, with plenty of space to stash your bags. The bed room had a comfortable, queen size bed, dresser, tv, a/c and ceiling fan, bedside tables and lights. The bed had a mozzie net that we didn’t need; piled it on top. The private outside room/courtyard was just off the bed room, with high walls and a partial roof, and included a small refrigerator, two chairs & a table, tea-fixings, a number of beautiful plants, a sink, toilet room, and shower room. Our rooms were spacious and clean, with rough, white walls, original floors and doors. Easy check in, pleasant manager, daily cleaning, drinking water, and two sweet cats. Coffee Atelier was a wonderful place to stay, full of history and character. Breakfast came with the room, served at Christoph’s, just at the end of the row of converted shophouses. Our preference would be for a less fussy breakfast. However, this did not distract from the overall sense that we would love to stay at Coffee Atelier again.
