The staff. They were kind they were warm. They seem to be enjoying their jobs and they were very welcoming.
They made an error and when we arrived, they had given our room a twin room to somebody else and I had to fight at the reception and then they offered us two rooms for the duration. Sound above and below is bad and you can hear people walking above your head the whole time it’s in a slightly dodgy area with tent city of homeless people all around it so you have to be on your guard.

We chose this hotel as it was teh best priced for the period we travelled. The hotel is decent offering a the minimum comfort for a decent stay. Given the rates of Paris accomodations, this was a good choice.
Some of the staff has dificulties in speaking English, and the rooms are quite small. The bathrooms are also quite small. There are a lot of "campers" in front and around the hotel, so not the best scenery.

Practical but boring room. Adequate standard for the price. It was in ok state, not too small and perfectly clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. The area along Canal St Martin is fine. You can have a nice walk along the canal and there are cafées and restaurants. Otherwise the quarter is nothing special. To be in Paris it seems to be ok value for money.
